13 years ago my niece, Thema, suffered a traumatic brain injury as a victim of a car accident. We had to fly her by air ambulance out of St. Thomas in an attempt to save her life and to make matters challenging, she was uninsured for the specialized care required which created an uncomfortable financial burden. At the time, I was on assignment in Slovakia and keeping myself together was difficult. But my forever memory is the support I received from the “giants” in my life, and I would like to say - thank you! As we celebrated her graduation from high school today, I reflected on my IBM work family at the time that carried me, helped us navigate the healthcare system to gain assistance that we could not afford and raised over $20k to help my family decrease our personal financial burden. With God’s grace and mercy, so many people supported me for which I am grateful. Special thanks to Karen Calo, Steve Loehr, Joan Nelson, Thorsten Dahlke, Wendy Bloom, Fran O'Sullivan who were amazing leaders that I worked for and many gracious colleagues - Barbora Paulovič Deckerová, Laura H., Katarina Nielsen, Andrea Revalova, Andrej Kunos, Wendy Bloom, Florian Lutz, Julia Skurka, Martina Kissová Liptáková, Katarina Urlandova and Jan Martinus. While we are all on to new opportunities; on this graduation day for my niece, I can never forgot the care and perspectives you provided to my family during one of the most challenging times of my career and life. Thank you for blessing Thema as she continues to persevere at her own pace in this wonderful world. Her journey has not been easy but she is a testimony of love and grace. ❤️🙏🏾 🇻🇮💙

What an exciting time to be a Wolfpack, for those who know me, North Carolina State University means the world to me because it changed my LIFE. It has been FUN to be part of the energy both teams created this weekend. What I do love about this story, is the hustle, grit, perseverance and the humble leadership of this magical run. All traits we learn as a Wolfpack. ❤️ p.s. and to the other wonderful school I attended Duke University, it is all LOVE. Together we will celebrate a moment for the ACC and our area which is electric. 💙 ❤️
