Nearly 300 fans showed up in Shibuya earlier this month for NBA Fest in Japan 2024, a special #NBA viewing party hosted by Rakuten, featuring all time NBA great Ray Allen. Held in the heart of Tokyo, the festival brought together basketball enthusiasts from all over Japan to celebrate the sport they love. In addition to a live screening of Game 4 of the 2024 NBA Finals, the event included a basketball clinic for local kids looking to hone their skills and plenty of championship wisdom from the 2018 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, Allen. Read on for some of Allen’s top tips for cultivating a championship mentality: https://lnkd.in/eWitqaD8

Mental Performance Coach for players in NBA, G-League, LKL, French Pro A, Pro B and some of the best prospects in Europe. Host of the Mind Game of Basketball podcast. Author of the Mental guide « 1 on 1 with yourself »
It is known (and unfortunately accepted) that a lot of players struggle when they go to the free throw line... Some are very poor free throw shooters all the time, some are good free throw shooters at practice but struggle in the games, and some are also good free throw shooters at practice and during games, but happen to struggle when the game is on the line and they need to be clutch... In my 5-week collaboration with Juventus Utena in the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL), I've had the opportunity to work with Saras Beniusis, who had been inconsistent on that exercise. He had the profile of the player able to shoot at a good percentage during practice but who struggled during games. In a five-week timeframe, Saras improved his percentage of 17%, going from 63,85% (53/83) during the first part of the season to 80,76% (21/26), making clutch shots at the end of the games, and being consistent during the playoffs, when pressure is at its peak. We often expect players to find solutions within themselves, by simply using reps. And the struggle can last for years. Sometimes, the little work that is proposed revolves around creating a routine and using breathing techniques, which is a start. Working with Saras on his perspective going to the free throw line was a game changer. He is now an 80% free throw shooter and can still improve his percentage a bit more in the coming years, with a consistent work on his approach. It doesn't always have to be complicated to help players perform better on some aspects of their game, but shout out to Saras for being open to my suggestions, because without the player's will to improve and do the work, it would be a dead loss. #themindgameofbasketball #freethrows #shootingimprovement #17percenthigher #lkl #championsmindset #perspective #playersdevelopment #openmindedplayer #success

Did you know that the Djokovic-Alcaraz Wimbledon Final had the most expensive get-in finals tickets in the history of sports? The worst seat was more than $10,000, and the cheapest ticket on TickPick to see the final was $10,600. Comparatively, let’s see how the cheapest get-in prices for other major sports events stack up: - Super Bowl 2023: $2,880 - Euro 2024 Final: $360 - IPL 2024 Final: $25 - F1 (Chinese GP): $199 - NBA Finals: $620 The prices for premium tickets are even more insane. Even as the youth's interest has shifted towards various other forms of entertainment, ticket prices for major sports have soared.

There's been a major increase in new-to-market basketball leagues lately. The most notable of them all is Ice Cube's BIG3 🏀 ESPN currently airs The Basketball Tournament (TBT) and just signed a massive rights deal with SlamBall to be shown across their channel offerings. Now former National Basketball Association (NBA) player, Tracy McGrady has Ones Basketball League, a one-on-one style competition. Even the NBA has seen a recent surge in viewership for NBA Summer League games. Do you think there will be more to follow or is the market becoming too saturated with spin-off leagues? source: https://lnkd.in/gTSViF_e #nba #nbasummerleague #basketball #tournament #investment #startup #sports #sportsbusiness #sportsindustry #league

🚀🏀 I'm happy to coauthor the recently published article that explores the extraordinary experiences of Brazilian NBA fans through their virtual interactions! We've observed that the mediatization and sportiness of the basketball league represent two facets of fans' prosumerism practices and experiences.
