Cushman & Wakefield has done it again! We’ve secured a 5 Star ranking in the VETS Indexes awards for the second year running. But let’s not stop the momentum! Cushman & Wakefield and C&W Services is on a mission to pave the way for military veterans, military spouses, the Guard/Reserve, and programs like Skillbridge to transform the landscape, ensuring they're not just seen, but heard and valued. We see their untapped potential, their resilience, and the dedication they bring to every organization they work for. We’re not just talking about ‘nice to have’ - we’re talking about a game-changer for businesses and people alike. So, here’s your call to action: Let’s recognize the value and invest in the future. Companies looking for the best of the best, it’s time to join forces with organizations like Cushman & Wakefield / C&W Services that champion military veterans in their workforce. #VETSIndexes #MilitarySpouses #GuardReserve #Skillbridge #BusinessImpact #HireVeterans #TogetherWeCanDoMore

We're proud of the work we're doing here - BUT, there's a lot more to be done. Benchmarking and connecting is paramount - it's the purpose of these awards. -Milspouses are still underutilized, underemployed and often challenged to find a reasonable career option. -Guard/Reserve are still underutilized, un-connected in some cases, and better benefits/practices are often hard to push. -Skillbridge and similar programs are often being improperly employed, causing multiple transitions for service members. - Finally, many organizations don't realize the massive bottom line impacts of having a successful, well-oiled program. It's more than "nice to have". It's great for business and people. Congratulations to all of the companies who've been recognized by the VETS Indexes awards that were recently released. Cushman & Wakefield has ranked 5 Star for the 2nd consecutive year. We're only able to do this with the hard work of so many alongside us. But there's more to be done. This was a great panel event. Honest accounts of the highs and lows of juggling parenting with career progression, as well as tips to manage day-to-day. Key takeaways for me included: 🕵️Get to know your team - don't assume that just because someone is a parent that their circumstances will be the same as other parents in your team. 👨🏾🍼Parent out loud - being honest (and sometimes vulnerable) about your responsibilities at home can help you feel you can be yourself at work. Spending less energy on hiding what's happening in your personal life can help you to focus more on working efficiently and effectively. 🎯 Flexibility and empathy is key - lead with empathy and compassion to get the best out of people. Look after your people and your people will smash their goals/targets. It's great to know that our senior leaders are human and that they're willing to be brave and share their experiences so that the rest of us can benefit. I'm looking forward to the next one already! #parentoutloud #flexiblewaysofworking #empathy #rolemodellingvalues #seniorleadersarepeopletoo #careerprogression #inclusionandwellbeing #parentsandcarers
Thank you to brilliant panellists Jo Harby Maria Farres Owen Jackson Dan Burkwood for sharing your reflections on balancing career progression with parenting at today's CRUK staff event. And to the Parents & Carers Network team, especially Dora Campbell-Black (she/her) and Kelly B. for putting it together. Such an important topic and so much to learn from other leaders

How many people will continue in the same job for another 20 years? Many people who reach midlife and want a change, maybe boredom has kicked in, their salary expectations have dropped, their role no longer exists or they no longer find it fulfilling. Continuous learning makes you more employable and keeps your mind more resistant to long-term diseases like dementia (which studies have shown*). Career coaches can help you find that next career move, as this can take time and work to get a good fit. *BMJ Open. 2019; 9(7): e027719 - Continuing education for the prevention of mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s-type dementia
We think the age of the career for life is over. With more of us living longer than ever before, there’s a greater chance you’ll have multiple careers throughout your working life. Director of Phoenix Insights, Catherine Foot, spoke to Head of Public Engagement & Campaigns at Phoenix Insights, Catherine Sermon, about the main priorities for helping people to prepare for the different careers and different retirements they might experience. Watch our video to find out what they had to say.

It's my 5-year workiversary at AP! This is the longest I've ever worked at one place, though I've had three different official job titles and many, many other unofficial ones (like SEOphie and Prep Queen). Throughout those years, I have: - Contributed to hundreds of breaking news stories, either by ensuring we have the right prep ready to go, filing/editing the stories, getting them promoted across our social platforms and optimizing them for other audiences. - Worked through a career's worth of "unprecedented" moments in a front-row seat to the first draft of history. In turn, I have learned and relearned that superlatives are always problematic. - Been through two primaries and a general election. No one does elections coverage like AP. - Developed efficient systems and sustainable workflows. And iterated and innovated a lot. And while I am so proud of those accomplishments, the things I am more proud of are: - The way I have centered mental health in my daily work and with my teams. It's OK to not be OK or to need a break or to say the news is too hard. - Being an empathetic leader and someone who values the people behind the work above all else. - Leading our employee resource group focused on women's empowerment and opportunities. - All the friendships that have blossomed over the years.

Confetti cannons at the ready! 🎉🎈 Happy 3-year Employee Ownership Anniversary to US! 3 years ago, we decided to cross that Rubicon River & become 100% employee-owned; we haven't looked back since! The team's voices have never been more heard, and with employee ownership, we've experienced a host of benefits that have transformed Rubicon for the better. As Rubicon grows and prospers, so do the team as beneficiaries. Becoming EO has taken our core values & purpose to a whole new level. With ownership comes a united interest in the company's goals. We are all working towards the same objective to improve working lives, creating a cohesive & resilient team. As well as this, the team is encouraged to share ideas, feedback, and concerns, leading to better decision-making and increased transparency. 💬 Our team are not just employees... they're stakeholders in the company's success. ⭐ Last week, we celebrated this marvelous milestone at our quarterly company meeting over pizza, drinks & cake! We also unveiled our summer activity to the team 🌊 & we took time to reflect on our achievements during a highly successful Q1, setting the stage for continued excellence in the coming months. Early career Margz knew some things. Below I've included an excerpt from an article I wrote titled, " Herstory: My Journey in Corporate America". I wrote that article over 4 years ago when I first entered/pivoted into focusing on DEI initiatives. Dang, how so many things have changed since. For starters I would include some statistics and my writing style along with my communication style has developed tremendously. I would've included a business perspective and business case. I should probably go ahead and release a V.2 of it now that I have some years under me. Anyways thanks for reading and enjoy! "We should focus on hiring in instead of out: meaning not basing our assessment on an individuals pedigree from an establishment, but rather to look at a candidate holistically; what barriers have they overcome, what novel experiences do they bring to the table, and how have they demonstrated excellence?. By having more inclusive hiring processes could set precedent that can continue to push conversations forward around the gender and race pay gap and economic mobility. I've been challenged to figure out "Corporate America" when I didn't necessarily have mentors or an example of what that looked like in my community. However, what I’ve learned about myself and my role that I have is as follows: social impact programs can accelerate and drive change in marginalized communities when they are run efficiently, a desire to leverage the skills I’ve gained in the corporate world to make a lasting impact in the world of social good. I have a passion for building programs that allow for more inclusivity and personal growth in teams. A goal I have for myself this year is to create more ways to empower marginalized groups through innovation such as instead of having a Womxn’s Group at my company how can I push that further. Such as having employees sign up to mentor an at risk youth in our area getting them excited about their future and providing them with an outline of how to get there. Which I would've loved to have a mentor to help me understand how to develop a career pathway. Happy Womxn's Herstory Month; I'm grateful for all the beings I have in my life that have helped shape me into who I am today and who i'm becoming."

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝟗/𝟏𝟏: 𝐀 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲. Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the events that took place on September 11, 2001, a day that has forever left an indelible mark on the pages of world history. At Eagle Staffing, we believe this occasion merits a moment of serious reflection and remembrance. 🕯️In Memoriam🕯️ We remember the nearly 3,000 individuals who tragically lost their lives, including those brave first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to service continue to inspire and guide our efforts at Eagle Staffing. 🌐Together for a Better World🌐 The events of that day served as a poignant reminder of how interconnected our world truly is. It reinforced the fact that each action we take reverberates throughout our global community. From that perspective, our responsibility at Eagle Staffing is to foster an inclusive culture that transcends borders and backgrounds. 🕊️Strength Through Unity🕊️ We honor the undying spirit of resilience and unity displayed in the aftermath of 9/11. Drawing from that strength, we continue our commitment to build teams that are diverse, supportive, and unified in their purpose. Just as unity was our shield in the days following the attacks, it remains our shield today against divisiveness and prejudice. 🔮Moving Forward🔮 On this somber day, as we reflect on our past, let us also look towards our future, thinking about the type of world we are building for the next generations. The lessons learned from 9/11 must go on to inform our actions, making us champions for understanding, peace, and empathy. Join us in remembering this day, understanding its importance, and honoring the lives lost by standing resolute—for unity, for peace, and for a brighter, more compassionate future. #911Anniversary #NeverForget #Unity #EagleStaffing
