This #WorldMaritimeDay, we thank our 28,000-strong team for your commitment to responsible shipping.
This year's World Maritime theme – "MARPOL at 50 – Our commitment goes on" – resonates with our commitment at FLEET to caring for our environment, people and broader communities.
We have recently launched our new Encompass sustainability strategy, featuring our approach to ethical and responsible business based on four key pillars – Navigating Responsibly, Evolving Environmental Stewardship, Safeguarding People and Working Together.
Our approach to environmental stewardship covers a wide range of areas, including the use of resources to protecting biodiversity and ecosystem health to pollution prevention and waste management.
In working towards fostering a cleaner marine environment, we are committed to supporting MARPOL and other marine environmental protection requirements established under international, flag state, port state and coastal state laws. We continue to invest in innovative technology and collaborate with global partners to contribute towards addressing the ongoing climate crisis.
Our operations are certified to the ISO 14001: Environmental Management System and ISO 50001: Energy Management System standards. We are committed to maintaining these certifications that guide us in addressing our impact on the environment. Our focus is on actively reducing environmental risks and sharing information on environmental performance with external stakeholders including classification societies, flag states, shipowners and oil majors so we can collaborate to make progress together.
