Today is the #EarthDay 2024. In ELANTAS EUROPE and ALTANA AG we have in our DNA and in our vision the commitment of protecting the #Environment and leave the #world better than how we've found it. 💡 In ELANTAS Europe Ascoli Piceno we're working hard on different areas: 🌍 we are investing significant resources in our plant to reduce energy demand, fossile sources usage and increase in efficiency. 🌍 we are expanding our #Solar power plant: within July, additional 950 kWp plant will be connected together with the current one, to achieve 1,75 MW #power, capable to produce more than 2.000 MWh of #Green power ➡ Up to 35% of our power demand, saving more than 800 ton of CO2 per year. Charging stations for #emobility will complete the investment. 🌍 we keep investing in #Research & #Development to create products with lower environmental impact and to enable the #energy #transition . 🌍 we strive to reduce the utilization of hazardous materials with strong attention in reducing #workers exposure and environmental impact. 🌍 we certify our commitment with several recognitions like #ISO14001, EcoVadis certification, cooperation with authorities and full compliance. We want to be proud to say that we're #ALTANA! ELANTAS EUROPE ALTANA AG #giornatamondialedellaterra

Power infrastructure that makes a difference.

Back in 2015, I agreed to embark on the unpredictable, emotional, and slightly insane ride that is entrepreneurship, convinced by the indomitable Steph Speirs that we could build an organization that looked and felt different and operated from a set of deeply held values. Now, nearly ten years later, I'm taking over as CEO. While the moment is bittersweet, I couldn't be more excited about what lies ahead for Solstice. Equity in clean energy, something for which we have fought from the beginning and is core to Solstice's DNA, is not just an afterthought anymore - it's now baked into policy with the passage of the IRA and increasingly a requirement in state-level community solar programs. This recent story from one of our community partners, Vee Likes, Development Director for Kenwood-Oakland Community Organization (https://kocoonline.org/), demonstrates the impact affordable and accessible clean energy can have on communities: “More than 60-70% of our members are renters, many are seniors, and almost all are rent-burdened and struggling with issues associated with living in close proximity to the fossil fuel industry and traffic-induced pollution. These communities do not have the type of investments they should in economic opportunities. Many are aware of what solar is, but actually understanding what community solar is and does for them, is not common. Our partnership with Solstice plays a strong part in educating communities. You don’t have to own a house to benefit from clean energy...folks are reminding us that they have the fundamental right to have equitable access and participation in the new clean energy economy here in Illinois.” I'm incredibly proud of stories like this, our team, the culture we have created, and the impact we have had. It wouldn't have been possible without Steph at the helm, and I will be forever grateful for her partnership throughout this wild journey. As Solstice’s CEO, I will drive forward the mission to bring clean energy to every community while treating our customers and partners with care and integrity. I feel tremendous gratitude for how far we’ve come and am looking forward to Solstice’s next chapter. Sandhya Murali Co-founder & CEO, Solstice
We’re delighted to announce new leadership at Solstice, including Co-Founder and COO, Sandhya Murali, taking on the role of CEO! In addition to Sandhya taking the helm, we have three other additions to our executive team, positioning Solstice for growth and innovation this year: Craig Armstrong, Chief Operating Officer Kei Hayakawa Strategy Officer Jennifer Kinney, VP of Product and Engineering Outgoing Co-Founder and CEO, Steph Speirs, who transformed Solstice from an idea into a national clean energy platform, will continue to serve on several boards and remain a voice in the energy industry as she takes a well-deserved break and explores her next chapter. Steph is thrilled to cheer on these leaders as they continue their impact at Solstice. Please drop a kind word for Steph and Sandhya below, and join us in celebrating this new chapter for Solstice ☀ https://lnkd.in/enVSq3AX

𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐬 Construction of 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝'𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐃𝐒𝐁) has granted approval for the establishment of an 𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 at Fjord Base in Florø, paving the way for a groundbreaking project by 𝐘𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚, a subsidiary of Yara International, alongside Azane, a Norwegian ammonia bunkering startup, and Fjord Base, a Norwegian supply base. This milestone permit signals a significant step toward promoting ammonia as a safe and low-emission alternative to conventional shipping fuels. 𝐘𝐚𝐫𝐚 expressed that while there has been substantial interest in ammonia as a decarbonized shipping fuel, the lack of infrastructure for the final leg of the journey, from production plants to vessels, has been a challenge. The planned terminal, comprising a floating stationary barge with a capacity of 1000 cubic meters of low-emission ammonia, is set to accommodate up to 416 operations annually, with a focus on bunkering operations for offshore supply vessels frequenting Fjord Base in Florø. With the approval secured, 𝐘𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚, Azane, and Fjord Base are poised to collaborate with project partners to obtain a local municipality permit before making a final investment decision (FID), signaling promising progress in the transition towards sustainable maritime fuel solutions. #Norway #ammonia #bunkering #shipping #alternativefuels #YaraInternational #FjordBase #sustainability #maritimeindustry NC: Offshore Energy

📚#Sustainable: Modern mining at Fortuna Silver means collaboration, transparency, open communication and effective interaction with all stakeholders.🤝 As a representation of these Fortuna Silver commitments, let’s take a look at The Ocotlán Grey Water Treatment Plant: 💧When designing San Jose Mine in Oaxaca, Mexico, we recognized that sourcing water presented a significant challenge in a region facing water stress 💧In 2008, an alternative to unsustainable well and river water extraction was identified in Ocotlán de Morelos, a community of about 23,750 people situated 15 km from the mine 💧This alternative water source was an idle greywater treatment plant, which, due to lack of maintenance, was causing serious environmental and public health issues 💧In 2010, Fortuna signed a 15-year renewable agreement with the Municipality of Ocotlán to refurbish & operate the plant in exchange for use of residual greywater at San Jose Mine 💧This initiative benefits the mine, the environment & community stakeholders and aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal #6 – Clean Water and Sanitation The Ocotlán Grey Water Treatment Plant project serves as an example of how corporate social responsibility, when integrated throughout an organization, can lead to long-term social, economic and environmental benefits for local communities.🌎 Learn more about our #sustainability efforts right here! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gtcJVsMe #MiningWithPrideAndPurpose
