Interesting update from Polygon Labs. As far as I know, it’s the first web3 use case of this kind. FOX launched a verifiable content database via a layer 2 (L2) network for tracking ownership and provenance of their content. L2 is powered by Polygon CDK using Gelato Network’s Rollup-as-a-service as their implementation provider. What does this mean? Content is verified on the blockchain at scale. With the rise of content powered by #genAI, this release is a step in the right direction.

Been a minute since I put up an update for Swink. We initially paused development to revisit our dev strategy. Our initial product dev strategy was to build a decentralized voting product. However, we faced design implementation issues building with the blockchain in mind. We took down the swink.co website to put up something better. While a decentralized voting product still remains our long-term focus. We are slightly pivoting to developing a simple yet fun version of our initial product for everyday hang-out needs. So this means the first release of Swink will be a fun voting platform where friends can conduct fun and engaging votes. There's more to it. But we'll be starting with this and seeing where it takes us.

Owning "crypto, identity, and now your chats". Interesting development as to how #crypto wallets bundle open 1) blockchain, 2) communication and 3) identity protocols. Clearly pointing towards the trend of digital self-sovereignty, enabling users of owning and porting identities, social graphs (connections) and content to new platforms (attractive interfaces to be specific). Only a matter of time before users are allowed to mix and match custom algorithms to deliver personalized content and services.

Censorship Resistant Communications Blockchain technology has birthed a new form of communication in Web 3.0. With the introduction of Web 3, communications systems can now be decentralized, which will revolutionize the way content is created, distributed, and monetized. Content will no longer have to sit on a platform that could cancel or regulate it because a decentralized Web 3 system is not controlled by governments or corporations. It operates peer-to-peer. These decentralized systems provide more resiliency during natural disasters, political upheaval, and corporate censorship. However, there are new challenges that the Web 3 communications systems will face, such as user adoption and technology limitations. How will Web 3 shape the future of content ownership and monetization, impact the legacy distribution giants, and address issues such as copyright through decentralized content governance? #Web3 and #Media typically are not associated with each other, but what if I told you that this could be exactly what the industry has been crying out for? There are so many components that go into this industry such as different platforms, ownership of content and licensing - all of which can be made easier by web3. Consisting of Blockchain technology, web3 has the capacity to unilaterally verify the user entitlements to content, reducing concerns of piracy and ensuring consumers are only purchasing or consuming legitimate media. Web3 can also allow businesses to have access to smart contracts, which are capable of automating licensing agreements. This ensures that all content usage adheres to agreed-upon terms and conditions. And then there’s cross-platform integration, a crucial component of media in the modern technological era. Web3 can enable interoperability between different entertainment and media platforms, which in turn allows for seamless content sharing and collaboration across the industry. However, web3 is capable of solving all sorts of issues in entertainment and media, including concerns around data. The blockchain technology is able to provide transparent and tamper-resistant data, allowing for tracking content usage, royalty payments, and content consumption metrics if applied within media.
