The Office of Career Success and Experiential Education recently piloted the International Career Advancement Program to transform the first-year experience for international students on the New York City and Long Island campuses. The 12-week program gave students a chance to work on U.S.-based career competency topics such as résumé building, interviewing/elevator pitch, self and career exploration, and careers in nonprofit management. They also worked on a team project and presented to peers, faculty, and staff.

I believe this is a very important aspect for everyone to grasp. If we start to consider this and put it into practice for ourselves and children too then there will be a large shift in our African Educational Systems. Context is very important and should be a key element in academic and commercial landscapes. #relearn #contextmatters #possible
#ChikaEzeanya was one of my first interns at #CBN Television in Virginia Beach about 20 years ago. She was a brilliant intern with a keen and inquisitive mind and a knack for storytelling. At the time, she was studying for a second Masters degree in a discipline she was not particularly excited about. One day, I asked her what her passion was. She said, "History." I then asked what she was going to do to fulfill her #dreams, rather than doggedly stick to her current Masters degree program. Not long after, she quit her Masters program to pursue Masters and Doctoral degrees in African Development and Policy Studies at #HowardUniversity in Washington D.C. The rest, as they say, is history. The lesson? Pursue your dreams. Never give up. Don't settle for less 🙏🏼 Way to go Dr. #ChikaEzenanyaEsiobu! Keep living the #Dream and fulfilling #Destiny
