Founder: "We need to start content with limited resources" Me: "Here's a 3-step minimum viable content strategy:" 1. Ideate authority-first content 2. Forge a strong social media presence 3. Get inbound demand with an entry offer Most businesses will skip (1), start with (2) and forget (3). - They start with a blank paper and think "let's write" - They publish 'all over the place' and then abandon - Their offer doesn't fit the audience level of trust As a result, they create weak content: - Distant noise → they create commodity content - No consistency → they have a 'stop and go' approach - Messaging changes → audience think "what are they doing?" Most founders in this situation abandon after a few weeks. "Content is not a good fit for us, we've tried" But here's the truth: If you can't launch a full content strategy at scale, start from a minimum viable content strategy (MVCS). Experiment with it. And then expand to a full content ecosystem. MVCS → Experiment → Iterate → Expand This approach has 3 benefits for you: - You have a clear and easy roadmap to start - You build step by step, and upskill in content - Your inbound flow grows steadily, you don't burnout It's time for you to build your minimum viable content strategy. Tell me in the comments if you have any questions, I'll answer. PS: Today I am adding in my flagship course a Minimum Viable Content Strategy Module for founders who need to start with limited resources. Get lifetime access now (more details in the comments)
The limitations placed on marketing resources are mostly due to a lack of confidence in their effectiveness and not necessarily due to an actual lack of resources (budget or time).
This is my actual content strategy 😎
Adding to 3 - create a free lead magnet that bridges the gap between where people are, and where they need to be to buy your entry level offer.
One thing I'd add here: Ensure content-platform fit before you proceed to create anything. Nothing more disappointing than putting tons of time into content that nobody cares for within the platform
Yesss, that's what we're talking about. Pierre 💯 As a big advocate of "MVP-content," I find these tips so useful. If we have the right messaging and positioning and focus on at least one channel, we can pretty much make it. 🚀
That's the foundation for building trust and attracting leads. If you'll skip the ground work, content will flop
You don't want to go all in and exhaust your financial as well as management resources MVCS allows you to experiment freely Pierre Herubel
Love these illustrations Pierre Herubel Breaking complex things down into simple and quick to understand illustrations is a money skill itself.
Start small, but strategically, iterate and build up your bank of content. Great approach Pierre
