🔋 We just closed our $7.5m Seed round with an amazing group of investors including PT1, neosfer, 468 Capital, Maximilian Tayenthal and Jan Beckers. 🔋 The need for energy storage has never been bigger and is growing exponentially as we progress towards 100% renewables. The Fraunhofer-Institut für Solare Energiesysteme ISE projects that Germany requires 178 GWh of storage by 2040 to reach its climate goals, and last year alone, 19 TWh of renewable energy was wasted due to lack of batteries. We at Terra One are tackling this bottleneck of the energy transition, enabling higher renewables production, thereby reducing burning of fossil fuels and making electricity cheaper for households and businesses. We have assembled an all-star team for this journey, have quietly built up a project pipeline that would make us the biggest storage operator in Europe by some margin, and built a cutting-edge ai-driven battery optimization platform. Terra One has just closed its 💸 $7.5 million oversubscribed Seed Round led by PT1 and neosfer, with participation by 468 Capital, Maximilian Tayenthal, Jan Beckers, scout funds of Hedosophia & Andreesen Horowitz. Welcome on board to our new investors! 🙌 We are excited to have reached this milestone and to receive the funding for the next stage of building the biggest energy storage platform in Europe, a critical piece of the energy transition. 🔋 In 2023, over 19 Terawatt Hours of renewable energy was curtailed in Germany alone due to supply/demand mismatch and grid congestion, enough to power 6 million households. It is Terra One’s mission to end this gigantic waste of clean energy by storing it when it is generated and provide it when demand is highest. With over 300 projects in our pipeline, we will soon start construction on the first projects and start operating on the European Energy Exchange AG exchange using our proprietary AI-driven energy trading platform. Ignitis Renewables, in partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Nordic Investment Bank (NIB), announced the signing of a financing agreement for the Mažeikiai onshore wind farm. WALLESS assisted Ignitis Renewables and congrats all on a greener tomorrow! The new wind farm is important for helping with climate action, supporting environmental sustainability, and contributing to Lithuania's journey toward decarbonization.
