Our Masters of Accounting students recently had the opportunity to meet with Petri Oksanen, Partner and Co-Head of Europe of Private Equity firm Francisco Partners while in London. The class gained valuable insights from Petri, drawing upon his extensive career experience: 1. Specialization can lead to strong value creation. This applies to private equity but also applies on a personal level. Get good at what’re you’re passionate about and success will follow. 2. Bigger market sizes don’t necessarily equate to bigger opportunities to expand. Smaller markets with a mission critical solution can allow for market share to be acquired faster. 3. “You are only as good as the collection of your experiences and skills” Don’t rush the process, take your time learning and developing skills that will make you a valuable team member. Yesterday, we announced we have entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Jama Software, an industry leading requirements management and traceability software solutions provider, from Insight Partners and Madrona Ventures for $1.2 billion. Our investment will empower the Company to further extend its leadership position in intelligent engineering management by helping customers improve their development processes to reduce defects, delays, cost overruns and recalls.       “The engineering management market is in the early stages of a fundamental transformation which Jama Software is at the forefront of. Today EG announces that a group of leading international investors led by Sofina and LGT Capital Partners have signed a definitive agreement to join Francisco Partners as owners of EG in a EUR 400 million investment round.    EG Chairman Klaus Holse said: "I’m glad to welcome our new investors. Their investments are an acknowledgement of the great work the team has done over the last four and a half years and of the continued growth potential of EG.
