#rPET for music: The Ocean Cleanup teams up with Coldplay for new rPET LP Read how The Ocean Cleanup describes the truly fascinating story of this extensive collaboration and · How the collection of the appropriate PCR PET material was realized by #Interceptor006 in Guatemala · Why only river plastic can be used · How Biosfera GT set up a separate sorting process to segregate the best quality PET · How Morssinkhof Plastics Zeewolde further processed the material into granules - the key ingredient for an LP · How Sonopress GmbH put the pieces together and make the record The Ocean Cleanup claims that each limited-edition LP will contain 70% PET river plastic. A great success story - from our point of view. Read more at https://lnkd.in/dngHw6nf Photo: The Ocean Cleanup Boyan Slat, founder and CEO of The Ocean Cleanup https://lnkd.in/dngHw6nf

🌍 Celebrating World Environment Day with RIPOL 🌿 Today, June 5th, we join the global community in celebrating World Environment Day. This year's theme, “Only One Earth”, reminds us of the value of acting together to protect our planet. On this special day, we invite everyone to think about how we can make a difference. Whether choosing sustainable products like our powder coatings or adopting small daily habits to reduce our environmental impact, every choice matters. We, at RIPOL, are proud to contribute to the environmental cause through our products. Our powder coatings are designed to be sustainable and environmentally friendly. Throughout our production chain, we aim to minimize environmental impact and promote environmentally friendly production practices. 🌱 Sustainable innovation - Our coatings provide high-quality topcoats and ensure fewer harmful emissions into the atmosphere and a safer working environment. They contain no solvents, do not release Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) into the air, and are free of heavy metals. ♻️ Waste reduction - Thanks to the technologies used in production, at RIPOL we minimize material waste, ensuring that every gram of coating is put to good use. 🔄 Recyclability - Any powder coating overspray can be recycled with minimal wastage and disposal is easy and safe, contributing to a circular economy and a greener future. Let's paint our world with sustainable colours for a brighter and greener future Join RIPOL and #GenerationRestoration, 'cause together, we can make a difference for our Earth and humanity. #coatingstechnology #powdercoatings #coatings #Sustainability #Sostenibilità #WorldEnvironmentDay

Approximately 42,000 cremations are performed annually in Flanders and Brussels, which is why, at the request of the VNOC (the Flemish network of public crematoria), we sought a sustainable alternative to metal transport urns. Driven by the growing demand for environmentally conscious solutions and the urgent need to reduce carbon emissions associated with urn production. The cradle-to-gate CO2-footprint of the OceanUrn® is 21 times lower than those of metal urns. Up to 12 million tonnes of plastic disappear into our oceans every year. That is why we developed OceanUrn®, made from discarded fishing nets and ropes from the fishing industry that are collected before they would be thrown into the sea. These are ground into plastic pellets from which we can then produce the urns. Funeral directors can return the OceanUrn® after use. Funico will then grind these urns again and with the plastic granules we can produce new ecological urns. This new urn represents a leap forward in sustainability and highlights that there is always room for innovation and improvement, even in the most traditional sectors. As a result, we have been selected with OceanUrn® for the PRAE Plastics Recycling Awards Europe, the winners of which will be announced on Friday at 12 noon during the PRSE, held in Amsterdam on 19th and 20th of June. ✅ SDG 9 Industry, innovation and infrastructure ✅ SDG 12 Responsible consumption and production ✅ SDG 13 Climate action ✅ SDG 14 Life below water #sustainabledevelopmentgroup #sustainable #innovation #compounds #recycling #oceanurn

As Glastonbury festival gets underway, our new research reveals that 70% of people who have bought a tent admit they have used it just once. According to estimates, about 250,000 tents made of polymer-based nylon or polyester are abandoned annually, leading to the creation of 'tent trash' fields and contributing to 900 tonnes of waste. To address this pressing issue, we have worked with EnviroTent, a company that designs cardboard tents, to create a 100% recyclable cardboard tent, which could be a game-changer in the fight against 'tent trash'. 📢 Countless eyes have caught a glimpse of our Ströer SE & Co. KGaA billboard content across Germany! 🌍🌊 🌊 Thanks to Ströers Infoscreen, we have the opportunity to raise awareness about one of the most crucial issues of our time - Plastic pollution of our waterways. A few insights: we receive 6 to 8 million impressions germany-wide per month through this cooperation. Hard to believe, isn't it? 📢 Why is this important for us? Only when a topic becomes visible does it have the power to trigger positive change. We want to show how plastic pollution in our rivers can be eliminated, and this gives us a valuable voice 📢 Have you had the chance to spot everwave on Ströer billboards? 👀 If so, don't miss the opportunity to capture the moment and send it our way. Together, let's join forces and make some noise about the vital issues of our time! 💪📸

Do you know the 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐮𝐦𝐩 in our oceans where phytoplankton absorb twice as much CO2 as the trees on our planet? A lot of marine eco-systems are acutely threatened by ocean litter. In some parts of the world there is six times more microplastics than phytoplankton in the oceans. And that’s where Hahnemühle comes in. Speaking of pure and clean water: it has been the basis of our sustainable paper production for more than four centuries. So it all ties in well with our mission in our very own and unique 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 when we teamed up with artist Max Romey of Trailbound Sketches Alaska and the Ocean Plastics Recovery Project LLC - to clean up a remote beach in Alaska, create an artistry project and a film to paint the bigger picture. The film will air at international short film festivals and the clean-up project goes on to develop and share reuse, recycling, and recovery alternatives for ocean plastic. #impact #sustainable #project #ocean #cleanup
