📢 New SAP Open Source Manifesto! Today, we proudly unveil the SAP Open Source Manifesto (https://lnkd.in/eTN79Y2D). This manifesto is a testament to our belief in collaborative innovation in technology. Building on our 26-year open source journey, SAP is ranked as one of the top ten commercial contributors to open source on GitHub (Open Source Contributor Index: https://lnkd.in/erT_cEsu). Our new manifesto reflects our enduring commitment to the open-source community as a major contributor. This launch coincides with SAP’s participation in the Open Reference Architecture project under the EU’s IPCEI-CIS initiative (learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eVibF-Vg), exemplifying our support for digital sovereignty in cloud infrastructure and services. A special thanks to the members of SAP’s Open Source CPA 'manifesto work stream' lead by Ulrike F. for their dedication to creating this manifesto, and to Juergen Mueller, Chief Technology Officer and Member of the Executive Board of SAP SE, as well as Michael Ameling, Head of Intelligent Enterprise and Chief Product Officer SAP BTP, for championing and authorizing it. We are also grateful to Dr. Wolfgang Gehring, and Mercedes-Benz for the inspiration, and the many open-source enthusiasts within SAP’s internal and external community who are contributing to this journey. To dive deeper into our manifesto, check out Michael Ameling’s article in the SAP News Center (https://lnkd.in/egu8UuWP). #OpenSource #SAPOpenSource #OpenSourceManifesto #OSPO #Innovation #IPCEI #Community
I love this level of transparency, great work!
Amazing how the company has rallied behind open source after the initial reluctance to contribute to open source early on. Congratulations!
This is excellent news and if you are sponsoring projects then surely ABAPGit has to be at the front of the line.
Great to see the journey to Open Source continued! Congratulations to you, Peter, and the team for your achievements!
Peter Giese Congratulations and welcome to the club of companies who eventually published their long running commitment to open source programme as a manifesto. I'm looking forward to further collaboration, especially among the established industry players.
Still no CAP ...
Congratulations Peter Giese and Ulrike F. and team - what a great achievement and recognition of the long SAP Open/Inner Source journey!
coooool! Now eagerly awaiting what Open Source projects you're planning on sponsoring as well ;)
