๐โ๏ธ Iโm back with another short, (not so) educational flurry of words to add a little sunshine (or maybe in todayโs case, sunburnโฆ) to your #LinkedIn feed.โ As youโll see from the yet again hyper-realistic graphic (solid work Diego), todayโs topic is the wonder that we all know and love: ๐ถ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐โฑ So, grab your suncream and remind yourself that what I say ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฆ๐ง๐ณ ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ณ ๐ก๐ค ๐ค๐ญ๐ณ๐จ๐ฑ๐ค๐ซ๐ธ ๐ ๐ข๐ข๐ด๐ฑ๐ ๐ณ๐ค, and letโs cannonball right into it. ๐ Firing up my #Penta branded time machine, weโre going back to Ancient Roman times. ๐ Back then, some wealthy #Romans used to go on #holiday for ๐จ๐ฃ ๐ง๐ข ๐ง๐ช๐ข ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฆ!? ๐ฒ Sure, they probably had to #travel wherever they were going in one of those Flintstone cars where you use your feet or something but ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐๐.๐คฏ Who would have thought people known for decadence and excess would be interested in something like a ๐ง๐ช๐ข-๐ฌ๐๐๐ฅ holiday ehโ Skipping forward a load of Roman Holidays(๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ตโ๐ด ๐ข ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ธ ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ช๐ต ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ข๐ด๐ถ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต ๐โ๐ญ๐ญ ๐ฃ๐ฆ ๐ถ๐ด๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ฃ๐ต๐ธ๐) we land in the Middle Ages. ๐ Travel seldom occurred aside from religious pilgrimages or walking over to the next village. ๐๐ ฝ๐ ป๐ ด๐๐โฆ yep, you guessed it.๐ Unless you were particularly wealthy and part of the upper class. Young, affluent gentlemen would undertake what was known as โThe Grand Tourโ. ๐บ โก Basically, a super posh study #trip around #Europe. Obviously, I never did anything like that, but I did take part in the French exchange. ๐ I donโt think my French equivalent liked me all that much, his younger brother certainly didnโt after I mercilessly and ruthlessly crushed him at #FIFA multiple times. ๐ Now, I didnโt learn an awful lot on my trip (๐ข๐ฑ๐ข๐ณ๐ต ๐ง๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฎ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐ช๐ตโ๐ด ๐ฐ๐ฌ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ฉ๐ข๐ท๐ฆ ๐ข ๐จ๐ช๐ข๐ฏ๐ต ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ญ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ค๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ค๐ฐ๐ญ๐ข๐ต๐ฆ ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐ฃ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ง๐ข๐ด๐ต ๐) but I certainly taught that kid a few lessons that day. ๐ Anyway, somewhere between โThe Grand Tourโ and several gratuitous #football simulation ass whoopingโs, they made the roads a lot better I guess, they also made engines. ๐ And probably #trains and #planes too. โ So now people like me and you can go on #holiday in the #summer. ๐ค Speaking of which, you should go on holiday this summer, and stay at a #Penta whilst youโre at it, so they can pay me and I can go on holiday or failing that I can just buy lots of crisps. ๐ See ya next month for more potato talk. ๐ BYE! ๐ค #dansview #summerholidays #hospitalitynews #copywriter #pentahotels #pentalovesyou #teamspirit

Resharng this from last year and after seeing it in a few pages I follow since the wisdom never gets old ๐๐ Try to travel, otherwise you may become racist, and you may end up believing that your skin is the only one to be right, that your language is the most romantic and that you were the first to be the first. Travel, because if you don't travel then your thoughts wonโt be strengthened, wonโt get filled with ideas. Your dreams will be born with fragile legs and then you end up believing in tv-shows, and in those who invent enemies that fit perfectly with your nightmares to make you live in terror. Travel, because travel teaches to say good morning to everyone regardless of which sun we come from. Travel, because travel teaches to say goodnight to everyone regardless of the darkness that we carry inside Travel, because traveling teaches to resist, not to depend, to accept others, not just for who they are but also for what they can never be. To know what we are capable of, to feel part of a family beyond borders, beyond traditions and culture. Traveling teaches us to be beyond. Travel, otherwise you end up believing that you are made only for a panorama and instead inside you there are wonderful landscapes still to visit. - Gio Evan, poet and songwriter. We all have our small techniques Those #hacks or tactics that work for us One thing that have helped me more than I thought it will is - 'messages on my wall'. Yes - I'm not kidding. For years now, I've been doing it. At first, unconsciously. Now very intentionally. Just the other day, as I organized and design my new home, I put some new, relevant messages on the wall. What do I mean by 'messages on my wall'?! Well those could be simple words, #quotes, saying, songs lyrics I print them out, write them on a post-it, get a big frame The idea is that IT HAS TO SPEAK TO ME! #Empower me. Sometimes challenge me. I have to see it daily, that's the whole point. As an #expat who's navigated multiple countries and cultures, I've learned that life abroad is a beautiful blend of excitement and challenge. It's about embracing the unknown, confronting fears, and finding strength in the little things. Those sayings on the wall have helped me, and still do, confront the toughest moments abroad. So I decided to share my small technique, and wrote about it on our #blog. Plus I included 20 empowering and motivational quotes that are great for life abroad. Go and check it out ๐ https://lnkd.in/eiKWD9zv and don't forget to tell me, which quote resonated most with you ๐คฉ #ExpatLife #Empowerment #Motivation With love, Gal Smoozitive

Travelling solo has been therapy for my soul. Many times, you miss perspective and self-introspection when you travel with someone. Being an observer, life has offered me plenty of opportunities to learn from the people I come across. People have untold stories that they donโt usually shareโtraumas they have kept hidden inside the almirah of time. They want to talk about their pain unless we donโt judge them and listen to them fully without comparing our pain with theirs or weighing both on the scale of intensity. I have met many people on this short trip whose stories have left me spellbound. Being an introvert, approaching people and taking the first step is an uphill task for me. I usually approach and ask for help until the situation rings with urgency. Otherwise, observing, taking notes, silently learning through actions, and trying to decipher someoneโs state of mind by just looking at their face are the things for which my conscious allows me to have some liberty of time. But this time, I have tried to have conversations with co-passengers, auto wala bhaiya, and anyone who has been crossing my path for a while. This led me to another learning experience and the formation of bonds with strangers who became friends in a jiffy. However, some were not happy, as I was not comfortable sharing my contact details. We all have our own reasons. From sitting near the bank of the Godavari to seeing the majestic beauty of the Brahmagiri hills, life flew through the memory lanes. I sat alone in a state of disquietude and thought that our lives resembled the same ๐๏ธriver current that was going to meet the ocean, like existence taking its last breath at the doorstep of death. Nevertheless, accepting reality is inevitable. The roads, ๐vehicles, ๐จhotels, and restaurants have one thing in common. They all have common visitors in the form of people. A ๐ฉปskeleton represents homo sapien๐งโ๏ธ, not an individual who is bounded by religion, ethnicity, caste, and a truckload of prejudices that were being used as vehicles of identities when that same skeleton was surrounded by blood and flesh of distinction. #travelling #solitude #life #introvertlife #observations #storiesthatmatter

Iโm back at my desk after 10 days in Portugal. Travelling (despite the jet lag) always makes me feel recharged. I think itโs because my mind has a different focus when immersed in new experiences. Travelling also gives me a fresh way of looking at my life - a new perspective on things Iโve been questioning or struggling with. And while it would be nice to travel every time I need to get unblocked or solve a problem, I believe itโs possible to shift perspective at any time, no matter where you are. I think of it as taking a little trip through my mind. Getting in there and questioning my thoughts, asking myself some different questions, and recommitting to what is most important to me. Do you ever travel through your mind to discover whatโs in there and how you can shift perspective? ____________ One powerful way to shift perspective is to have open conversations with others. Sharing is how we learn and grow. Itโs why I created The Wisdom Collective โ a community of support for women to find strength, courage, and confidence to make lasting changes in their life. Together, we will discover where you are now, what you truly want, and how to get there from a place of calm and confidence. Sessions start October 27 and thereโs a special intro offer available now. Hello LinkedIn Family! ๐ฆ Sharing a pleasant experience today! โค๏ธโบ๏ธ I recently took my first solo international trip to the United States of America. This experience opened my eyes to the importance of broadening one's horizons and understanding different perspectives. It also taught me to embrace the unfamiliar and step out of my comfort zone.๐ It also reminded me of the importance of taking risks and pursuing new adventures. ๐คฉ Besides, the most important part of my journey was challenging myself to overcome my height phobia. I have a huge fear of heights. But hopping in the plane for the first time in my one score and some years of living, making sure to enjoy the moment and trying to forget the fear, was one of the most amazing moments of my life.๐ฅณ๐ I was proud of myself, I was proud of Kadi!๐ Once in Uncle Sam's land, It was challenging to navigate the unfamiliar territory, but I quickly learned the joys of traveling solo and having the freedom to explore at my own pace. I met incredible people along the way and gained a newfound sense of independence and confidence. This trip is a turning point for me and sparks my love for solo travel.๐ฅฐ๐ This trip broadened my perspective on the world and ignited a desire to use my skills and resources to make a difference. ๐ฅฐ NB: American people no de like sugar???๐ฅฒ๐ Please I need sugar sha.๐ Let the adventure begin! ๐คฉ #travel #exploring #heightphobia #USA #adventure

When I first decided to study abroad, my motivations were far from profound. Influenced by the allure of adventure, the excitement of exploring and LIVING in a European city!!! and the dreamlike scenarios I had seen in movies, I envisioned a semester filled with picturesque moments and thrilling escapades. The idea of traveling the world and experiencing a new culture seemed irresistibly cool. But the reality of my journey was much deeper and more transformative than I could have ever imagined. Upon arriving in Vienna, I quickly realized that the experience was not just about visiting famous landmarks or indulging in the local cuisine. It was about navigating a new academic system, dealing with language barriers, and often spending a significant amount of time alone. Initially, this solitude felt daunting, but it soon became a source of profound personal growth. In those moments of solitude, I began to reflect deeply on my life, my goals, and my motivations. I started my own podcast on mental health, which not only allowed me to connect with others but also helped me to better understand myself. I delved into the world of spirituality, reading the Bhagavad Gita, practicing yoga. These practices became my anchors, guiding me towards a better mental space where anxiety and overthinking were no longer my constant companions. Through this journey, I learned to live life unapologetically and stopped trying to please everyone around me. I embraced my true self and started living in alignment with my values and beliefs. The pressures and expectations that once weighed heavily on me began to lift, and I found a sense of peace and contentment that I had never experienced before. โค๏ธ What started as a journey for all the wrong reasons turned into an experience filled with all the right learnings โค๏ธ #StudyAbroad, #Vienna, #PersonalGrowth, #SelfDiscovery, #MentalHealth, #Yoga, #Spirituality, #AnxietyRelief, #Mindfulness, #OvercomingChallenges, #Resilience, #LifeLessons, #Inspiration, #Motivation, #PersonalDevelopment, #StudentLife, #GlobalExperience, #LivingAbroad, #CulturalExchange

I help executives to live a simpler life using my Futures Roadmap. Unlock Chapter 1 for FREE โฌ and start your journey today.
You only have 1 life, live it well. Choose wisely. People ask why I needed to move to an island to live a simpler life. I was living a very comfortable life in South Africa. Enjoying my work, chasing new opportunities, and winning deals. And then the following life-changing events unfolded: 1. A global pandemic stops the world. 2. People much younger than me are dying. 3. I suffer a severe heart attack that brings me close to death. I view these events as my falling upward moment. I was moving from the first half of my life, where I have been focused on building my vessel, to the second half, where I will be focusing on filling that vessel. I was getting ready to stop building โ my role, my title and my personal image. And move towards discovering my โtrue self.โ One of the best ways to do that is to embark on a journey of travel. The prophets, sages, mystics, philosophers and authors did it. Moses, Saint Francis of Assisi, Plato, Rumi, Mark Twain, Che Guevara are some of the names that come to mind. These famous people's travels helped shape their ideas, beliefs, and legacies, and continue to inspire people around the world to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery and adventure. At the end of our lives, we will look back and reflect on the decisions we made, the paths we have chosen and the people we have loved. When that time comes, how many of us will be able to honestly say that we have lived our lives fully? I hope to be one of those who do not have regrets. I have chosen to take the path less traveled. I have chosen to live the life of my dreams. I am the lead character in my own novel. You are the author of your life. Choose wisely. Want to know where to start your journey? I can help. I am offering 5 free coaching sessions in September. Claim your free session now.
