As I try to calm myself down from all my excitement from how tonight went at Teatime I just had to share it with others. So as I went into tonights Teatime I got curious on how Safety Positive Foundation might be doing on our fundraiser for #givingtuesday and to my very happy dance surprise was sitting 10% of our goal already!!! Can you say one happy Founder / CEO! Then to go into my favorite night of the week and hangout with my pirate crew and we have new people attending and a guest speaker!! Even better its a record breaking night in attendance! Note if you were talking to me in person right now I would be using my hands all over the place I am so excited on how tonight has went. I am both excited and terrified to have a goal of $2500 in one day. I have never had a goal like this before in all honesty. Ok I have helped teams accomplish this goal but not the one leading the ship on the crew. So here I am humbling and shameless asking for donations to reach this goal. The thing is though this goal is not about me. Well maybe it is.. maybe its about a younger me or that younger lady out there like me who I want to create this service for. So they can have access to the training and resources I didn’t have. So maybe they can learn how to advocate for themselves and not be mentally or emotionally abused. So they can learn how to be proactive about their personal safety instead of reactive. Maybe they can learn where accessible trainings are located / offered that they may be offered on-going training to reduce likely hood of assaults. This project we are creating is going to change lives. I can feel it in my heart and soul. ♠️🌈 Money doesn’t Grow on trees 🌲 ♠️🌈 IYKYK… do y’all remember when our parents or grandparents use to tell us money doesn’t grow on trees. That statement was used on a weekly rotation, if not more than that because I was a kid who wanted new things. I wanted the new cars, the new play sets, the new gadget that came out. I barely remember what I asked for then but I remembered “money doesn’t grow on trees!” Over the last few years, I have be working on my money mindset. In minority communities, we aren’t taught about financial literacy. We don’t learn how to balance a check book, pay tax, launch businesses, how to properly use credit cards! We are not educated around money. We are taught how to work and how to spend it but never how to grow it for ourselves. The best thing about joining network marketing in 2013 and now having an affiliate marketing company that does 6 figures annually is that I had to grow my money mindset. Y’all!! If the Federal Reserve can print money every day of the week, we can grow our own money trees.. We have to let go of the idea that money is hard to come by. We have to let go of the idea that we have to hustle for money. We have to let go of the idea that we must work 8-16 hour long days to have good money. We have to let go of the idea that we must hold on/save money. All of these mindsets are hurting you, your financial standing, and your dreams! I invite you to release the negative ideas around money and look for abundance! Money is an energy and it’s free flowing. I haven’t ever been popular so voting things make me feel really nervous and insecure. However, I need to woman up and ask for your support on this occasion. You know that I have worked my absolute butt off to make sure there is support available, affordable and accessible to anyone who needs it to help expectant parents right through to children turning 6 years old get the best start to their parenting journey. You know that I am spending most of my time working on changing the way businesses support parents returning to work, helping them to be safe and efficient in their job by improving sleep and mental health to improve their overall well-being. I have pushed myself out of every comfort zone going as I believe I will make the difference needed to parents. I now need to push myself much further out of my comfort zone and ask for you to vote for me in the Enterprise Vision Awards. It might not seem like a big deal to ask people to vote, but for me personally, it’s a really big deal. I even struggle asking people to leave me reviews. There were nearly 1500 entries to the EVAS, and I have ended up in the final 8 in the digital industry category. I couldn’t ever have imagined been someone that people look at and think that me and what I do are worth anything. This is why I need to ask you to vote. It may have no impact at all as I can’t turn the clock back and redo my interview, and honestly, I don’t think I would change anything anyway. I was 100% me and I put my heart and soul into it. But on the off chance there is a tie, or a close call, they will be heading to the public vote to add to the scores. If I’ve already blown it from my interview, then hey ho that’s life, but if I come close and it’s down to a popularity contest, I don’t think I would ever win, so I’m asking you to give me a chance. If I get close enough that they need to rely on a vote, I need to know I did everything I could to win. “Durham's Effective Basic Income Pilot Program” In 2022, Tydricka Lewis, a single mother with three children, was selected for Durham, North Carolina's basic income pilot program. This program enabled her to purchase a reliable car for commuting to work. Participants in the program received a monthly stipend of $600. Jack Dorsey, the former CEO of Twitter, contributed $15 million to Mayors for a Guaranteed Income, an advocacy group supporting the initiation of basic-income programs in various American cities and towns. Durham, benefitting from this funding, aimed to observe the impact of an unconditional income stream. Mayor Mark-Anthony Middleton expressed interest in seeing the effects of such income without any moral judgments attached. Durham has seen its lower-income and Black populations marginalized with the city's rapid growth. The Hayti community, historically a Black hub, has become increasingly white, accompanied by soaring housing prices. The city chose to allocate the basic-income funds to a group of its formerly incarcerated residents. The concept of a basic income has been proposed by various US presidents and leaders over the years. Those selected for Durham's pilot program had the freedom to spend the money as they wished. The funds were typically used for everyday expenses like rent, bills, and groceries.
