I woke up today a disappointed, yet grateful Lions fan. 🦁
But this post really isn't about analyzing the game, it's bigger than that.
Waking up sad because of the end of a historic Lions' season, made me reflect on how each of us struggle with a range of challenges each day.
They're mostly invisible, underneath the surface of our "ready for work" personas, but the challenges remain.
We may not know what our colleagues, friends, the stranger on the train, the person who handed me my coffee, etc. are struggling with but trust there are always struggles.
These challenges are much more significant than a football game outcome.
Be kind. Have empathy. We're all in this together. Lighten someone's load today.
P.S.
A few football/life notes:
1. Sometimes you have to just make progress with a field goal (+3). It's not always about going for the touchdown, not getting it and giving momentum to the opponent and their fans.
2. Sports are powerful. They bring the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.
3. Sports can create powerful sense of connection and belongingness...with the team, the coach, the city, other fans, etc.
