Glazing plays a very important role by the way in which it impacts the building's energy consumption. At the same time, it is absolutely necessary in providing the building's occupants with a connection to nature & the outside world. However, balancing the aesthetic aspect of glazing with the energy efficiency goals of a building can be a little tricky. It is therefore important to use building energy simulation tools to optimize a building's glazing design.

1. **Buildings**: The battery fire's heat release rate (HRR) increases much more rapidly and reaches a higher peak compared to the design fire. This indicates that battery fires in buildings can be more intense and dangerous, requiring robust safety measures and quick response times to manage the high heat release. 2. **Parking Garages**:Both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) fires reach similar peak HRR values, but the EV fire peaks slightly earlier and maintains a high HRR for a shorter duration. This suggests that while both types of vehicle fires are severe, EV fires may require different firefighting strategies due to their different burn profiles. 3. **Tunnels**: EV fire decreases more rapiditly than HGV but we have to consider the effects of the release of toxic substances in a confined space

What are your thoughts on these three plots? 1. In buildings, E-mobility devices result in fires that are developing much faster than typical design fires (and with very toxic gases released) 2. In parking garages, from a structural point of view, the peak of EVs and ICEs are quite similar, so there are other aspects that are more important. 3. In tunnels, we already design for HGV, so an EV fire is not a structural challenge from an HRR perspective.
