Nebulization of RNA formulations encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and its impact on physico-chemical properties is currently being intensively evaluated in science. Katrin Wiebe, Simone Carneiro and colleagues from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München have examined the nebulization of various RNA/LNP combinations with two different nebulizers. They found encapsulation rates of more than 80% after nebulization – even with a non-optimized eFlow®rapid nebulizer (pls. see table below). The results were presented within the poster session at RDD 2024.
