Today is a very special day; We’re announcing our annual result for 2023 at FOSS!  I am immensely proud of the result we have collectively achieved, maintaining our record-level in turnover from 2022. While launching five new innovative solutions, two of them are world-first innovations poised to revolutionize crucial aspects of the agriculture and food industry. These achievements underscore the growing demand for FOSS' innovative analytical solutions. We certainly aren't bored, and that's how it should be when our company strives to deliver the most innovative solutions to the world's 100 largest food producers and more than 40,000 customers. I would like to highlight 4 take aways from our annual report:   ➡ 570 MDKK in operating profit, ensuring massive future investments. ➡ 12% of the turnover is reinvested in innovation, the highest ever. ➡ 4% organic growth, particularly driven by the sales of new solutions launched in the last three years. ➡ High growth in Latin America and China. At FOSS, launching groundbreaking new solutions and world's firsts is a part of our DNA. That’s how we have been doing business ever since Nils Foss founded our company almost 70 years ago. And that’s what our primary focus will continuously be for the next 70. We're on a mission for a more sustainable use of the world’s food resources. A fast-growing population means that global food production will have to increase by 60% by 2050 to meet demand. We want to be part of the solutions to make that happen in an innovative way. The aim is to help ensure product quality, fair payment, production efficiency, and reduced waste. Innovation is not just a buzzword but a way of life. We are constantly exploring new avenues to drive sustainability across our products, processes, and operations. From minimizing our carbon footprint to enhancing supply chain efficiency, FOSS is committed to setting the standard for sustainability in our industry. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵: 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 ♻ Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a seminar titled "Driving Sustainable Change Within Companies." As someone passionate about this area, I was eager to exchange ideas and learn from others. 💬 What better way to understand how to shape corporate operations than by simulating one and its stakeholders? We formed groups, each person assuming the role of a different stakeholder in chocolate production — from cacao farmers to employees of large chocolate enterprises, supermarkets, and shareholders. We discussed diverging positions and sought compromises. 💪 Over three days, intensive case study sessions alternated with reflections on values, strengths, and resources we as individuals and teams have to drive change. 💡At the end of the seminar, each group pitched their ideas to the company's board. Our solutions included empowering farmers through better payments, long-term education, and improved equipment. Additionally, we proposed new sales channels and an adapted product design to finance these changes while increasing consumer transparency. 💚 Working with passionate, ambitious, and curious individuals dedicated to finding solutions for sustainable company transformations has reaffirmed my commitment to this career path. 🙏 Thank you for the great teamwork, Abdullah Taan, Tamara Lang, and Jonas Siebert. ISEAL, IDH, Rainforest Alliance, and Evidensia commissioned an independent systematic review to identify effective supply chain sustainability approaches for improving decent work in agriculture and apparel production.
