[Data viz] 👇👇 🇫🇷 The elite French indoor championships took place this weekend! 📈 An opportunity to take a look back at the data from the event, in particular the 3,000 metres won by Romain Mornet. 👑 #Championship races are often "waiting races", whether at the #Olympics or the French championships. Athletes want the medal, not the record (see my article on the subject in the first commentary). ✅ Here we see the classic pattern of a middle-distance race 1️⃣ First of all a #fast start to position yourself correctly 2️⃣ Then a slowing down with 100m run at more than 3'00 per kilometre (which is quite #slow) 3️⃣ Finally a gradual acceleration to compete for victory in the #sprint. ⚡️ If you look at the data, you'll also notice that Nicolas-Marie DARU attacked at 2500 metres before taking 3rd place! He was overtaken after a thundering final 100m by Simon Bédard (13'63). He made up for it the next day by winning the semi-final of the French #crosscountry championships 🤯 This event is fantastic news for me. With Enduraw, we were stuck on the track because we didn't have enough #quality data (as you know, clean data is the key to success). 🚀 Now, with Matsport and the help of Vincent Guyot, we have access to extremely #precise data on the #speed and #position of the athletes. A new era in pacing advice for coaches and athletes #enduraw #championship #trackandfield #behindthescene #timer #performance #pack #peloton big thanks to Aymeric Roucher 🙌

📱 Head of Digital Learning | Expert in Graphic & Instructional Design | 👉 Ask Me About the Underscore Change Academy and our Training Services
𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹?🥇 I found myself asking that very question after watching the Women's Pole Vault final at the Budapest World Champs last night. Nina Kennedy from Australia 🇦🇺 and Katie Moon from the USA 🇺🇸 both cleared 4.90m on their third tries… having the exact same clearance record up to that point… they then each failed three attempts at 4.95m, leaving them with exactly equal records. But instead of choosing to continue the competition and going head-to-head for another round to find an ultimate winner (which was an option), they chose to share the top spot. It's a heartwarming display of sportsmanship… isn’t it? “Beautiful” as the headline reads… Jessica Ennis-Hill and Michael Johnson weren’t so sure!! 🤨 It niggled me too: 🏃♀️Is a safe and secure shared victory good enough in competitive sport? Should it be allowed? 💪 Isn’t the risk of putting yourself on the line to win what every individual athlete trains for, every day… especially at the World Championships!? In sport, life, and business, we're often faced with similar risk vs security dilemmas. When faced with the risk of potential glory (your dream goal) versus the security of a shared success (nobody dreams of a draw), which track would you take? Would you have shared the gold? 🥇🤔 And if you did, do you think eventually you’d regret it in the long run? One more question, what if one of them wanted to take the draw and the other didn’t, how much of a psychological advantage would that have given the athlete driven to win? #budapest2023 #worldchampionships #success

European Masters Indoor Championships. - Toruń, Poland 🇵🇱 3 races in one week with 3 huge PBs 3000m Final- 5th with a 12” PB (10:44) 1500m Final - 4th with a 7” PB (5:06) 800m Final - 7th with a 7” PB (2:31) The most amazing experience for my first ever Indoor European championships. The atmosphere in the stadium was unreal, the facilities were world class and to come away with three PBs was pretty epic. Every race had such a different story. I had to front run the 3000m for 11 laps in order to hit my PB and to make the race honest. The 800m was inbetween the 3000m and 1500m which my coach wanted me to do to get some speed in the legs for the 1500m - 800m is not my normal distance so it was hard and the lactic was so intense in the final 200m. No idea how I raced the 1500m after only 1 day of rest but just gave it my all, left absolutely nothing out there and ran to my maximum. I didn’t expect to finish that high up the field as the quality of athletes is fantastic, it really was great to be around such talent. These performances put me top of the UK AG rankings for 1500m and 2nd for 3000m and 800m 🇬🇧 What a way to close the indoor season. As always, powered by plants 🌱 #athletics #veganbusiness

Let me share a little story involving more waiting than an overcooked microwave dinner. 🕒 But it's a story that turned waiting into triumph! After my rowing adventures, I thought volleyball might be a bit more of a leisurely pursuit. But life had other plans. Out of the blue, I got the call! 📞 "Pack your bags, James, you're heading to the World Championships in Edmund, Oklahoma!" 🌎 Say what? Oklahoma, here I come! 🤠 Fast forward, and there I was, competing in my 2nd Paralympics, and guess what? It was a HOME GAME! 🏡 The energy, the vibe, the sheer awesomeness of it all! Let's break down some achievements: ✅ Represented Great Britain at 1 World Championships, 1 European Championships, 1 Intercontinental Cup, and the London Paralympics. ✅ Earned 56 caps with the Great Britain Men's Sitting Volleyball Team. ✅ Rocked the National Cup Finals with a runner-up spot in 2010 and 2012 and a semi-finalist stint in 2011. And, of course, we hit the quarter-finals at the 2012 London Paralympics, giving it our all! 🇬🇧💪 Here's the kicker: Life's full of unexpected twists and turns. It might feel like a waiting game, but it's all part of the journey. Challenges? Oh, they'll come knocking, but guess what? You're armed with the most potent weapons – your mindset and determination. My journey had its fair share of ups and downs, but I kept swinging. 🏐 And guess what? Jamaican sprint legend to retire after Paris 2024 Olympics Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce At 37, Shelly-Ann, with a record haul that speaks for itself and regarded as one of the greatest sprinters of all time, to retire after the Paris Olympics. With just 40 days to go until the start of Paris 2024, the excitement is quickly mounting! The Olympics and Paralympics are truly the ultimate playground. The ultimate “Games”. We see these elite athletes competing at the very highest level… But behind every champion lies a beautiful story that began with one simple act: ‘play’. Every Olympian and Paralympian started their journey just like us – with a first pedal on a bike, a first kick of a ball, or a first dive into a pool. These moments of pure joy and discovery are what unite us all. Their greatness was born from the same spark we all felt as children when we fell in love with our favorite sports. It’s in those moments that dreams ignite and legends begin to form. The Olympic and Paralympic Games are a symphonic ode to ‘play’, a celebration of the joy, passion, and perseverance that sport brings into our lives. They inspire millions around the world to embrace their own journeys in sport, reminding us that sport really is for everyone. Our latest campaign captures the essence of this shared love – from legendary moments to everyday heroes. TIME is all-inclusive, in full circle, they are wired to do things, to be seen, heard, connected, and become. 🌻Time leads humans to begin having a reason and purpose to survive, share, and reproduce needs and wants.🌻
TIME2 CARE. Campaign to have it in part of the Olympic Games INTENT. As humans, we have a mind that can discern, If you have an intent, you have a motive and purpose. Using the power of intention teaches us something that shapes the person that we are becoming. Make chess a social activity. Celebrate achievements. TIME2B. Chess is often considered a psychological sport because it requires a high level of mental focus, strategic thinking, and the ability to anticipate and respond to an opponent's moves. Players must manage their emotions, maintain concentration, and make decisions under pressure, all of which are psychological skills. TIMESHARE. In short, Chess teaches us to take action. After all, a game of chess is all about pattern recognition, finding new opportunities, and attacking the opponent. Just think that your problems are your opposing player, and you're Don't sit around and simply tell yourself that it's okay to be weak.

AN FEI CASE STUDY 🌍 FOR EVERYONE A quaint video accentuating the bond between humans and horses-creatures like no other in the animal kingdom. However, the blatant use of stock footage showcasing a black man with his equine partner is insulting. Do they think we (EMBERS*) would not notice? While real-life footage of white grooms, trainers & competitors are used, you splice in a generic insert. It is a great shame and cause for major concern that the FEI’s agenda of promoting their global campaign of this Olympic sport does not reflect 80-90% of the global population. WE KNOW WHY! They are systemically denied the equitable advancement opportunities as white riders. Is there no end to this “old guard racial-bias -culture” in sports? Despite the many *Experienced Multi-Ethnic and Black Equestrian Riders* worldwide, the FEI still believes a stockpile footage of a black man is all that is required to give an illusion of equal participation and accessibility of EMBER groups in the sport. Although not surprising, since the FEI does not have nor subscribe to an authentic DEI initiative. There are multi-ethnic and black riders (MEBs) all over the world who deserve to have their stories featured in this video, proclaiming their ancestral bonds with their horses. BUT that has been stripped away from them as non-participants. And therefore their voices. I hope the FEI takes this opportunity, especially in an Olympic year to change their ways and enact progressive policies in advancing MEBs in all equestrian sectors. Just as other global sports. Because it is dying without it. 🐎 #FEI #OlympicCommitee #OlympicParis2024 #OlympicSport #GlobalSport #EquestrianSport #BlackEquestrian #MEBs #Horses #CommonWealthGames #BlackLivesMatter #BlackEmpowerment #BlackBusiness #BlackFemaleBusiness #Mission44 #SirLewisHamilton #F1 #MercedesBenzAMGPetronasF1team #Ferrari #DEI #OlympicChange #DeloitteUK #DeloitteUSA #DeloitteGlobal #Amex #RolexGrandSlam #LGCT #LGCL #TommyHilfiger #HM #PoloRalphLauren
