𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗰: 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗔𝗗𝗜’𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗥𝗲𝗰 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 PADI has just released its long-awaited TecRec update, specifically focused on its introductory tech diving program; the original version was released in 2001. The new open circuit courses, Tec 40, Tec 45, and Tec 50, are, in fact, a completely new rewrite replete with the latest diving science & safety considerations and the option to add trimix—the original courses were conducted with air/nitrox. InDEPTH’s Editor-in-Chief and longtime industry observer Michael Menduno dives into the TecRec program and offers a prognosis. “This October at the annual Diving Equipment & Marketing Association (DEMA) tradeshow, PADI released a long-awaited update to its open circuit “TecRec” program, which was originally launched in 2001. Specifically, the training juggernaut has completely rewritten its introductory courses to tech diving, i.e., its Tec 40, 45, and 50 courses that serve as the gateway between recreational and technical diving. The update incorporates the latest diving science and thinking on topics such as gas density, gradient factors and deep stops, the helium penalty, whether oxygen is narcotic, dive planning software, and more. It enables divers to do their training in sidemount or backmount, adds additional “dry” practice session options into courses, and now offers trimix as a gas option beginning at 40 m/130 ft—originally the program was air and nitrox only.” Read the full article in InDEPTH: https://lnkd.in/dSNrQUH7 Photo courtesy of PADI #technicaldiving #PADI #TecRec #review #opencircuit #techdiving #InDEPTH #GetDeeperIntoDiving

A simple question with more than one answer! #padi #copywriting #freelancecopywriter
Freelance SEO copywriter & content writer | Business writer | Digital marketer | PADI scuba diving instructor | Working remotely since 2018 🌍 Open to projects in different niches
You often see me post and talk about PADI, sharing the articles I write for its blog. But if you're not a scuba diver, you may not have even heard of PADI (despite it being the largest dive training organisation in THE WORLD). But it's the case with most things. If you're not interested or involved in them, big names mean nothing to you. Like if you talk to me about racing cars, I wouldn't know the difference between the Grand Prix and Formula One. Never mind all the lingo that goes with it. So in my latest article for PADI, I answer the very question "What is PADI?". (And it does more than certify scuba divers!) 🔗 https://lnkd.in/grz2c7Jf #scubadiving #contentwriting #freelancewriter

Train and Learn Always: Your Lifeline for the Future In a rapidly changing diving sector, the best investment you can make is in yourself. Whether it's through formal education, online courses, reading, or hands-on experience, continuous learning and training are crucial. Staying updated ensures you remain relevant and competitive. Knowledge equips you with the tools to tackle unforeseen challenges effectively, fostering creativity and enabling you to think outside the box. Expanding your horizons enhances your confidence and opens new opportunities, preparing you for both professional and personal challenges. Don’t wait for change to force you to learn. Make it a habit to train and learn always. Your future self will thank you! As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure safety and improve diving activities in Nigerian territorial waters. We have ordered the immediate hold down of SCUBA diving activities and the use of uncertified divers. All illegal divers without certificates shouldn’t be part of our diving activities, they should cease to be members of NAPROD because the association is a professional body. You can’t be a member without first being certified as a professional. The newly reconstructed NAPROD and Diving Governing Board can’t accept it because the international stakeholders are keen to see if truly we mean what we are campaigning for. Illegal divers (Without Certificates) in NAPROD are directed to vacate any position immediately. The newly remodeled road to the safe sector is achievable. Let's work together for a safer and more efficient diving sector.

Coaching you to be your very best self 💥 Transformational Coach for busy professionals who struggle with time 💥Life, executive & corporate wellbeing coach💥Public Speaking coach💥Keynote Speaker💥TEDx
The very first time I went Scuba diving I was abandoned on my own at the bottom of the ocean. I was diving in the ‘cheapest place to learn diving in Australia’ Which also turned out to be a breeding ground for Tiger sharks You get what you pay for I suppose. There was a group of us diving, but when my instructor and myself reached the bottom no one else appeared. It was only 12 metres – but with zero experience that’s quite a ways down. We waited, still nothing, so my instructor signalled for me to wait there while he went looking for the other divers. Far be it from me to challenge his professionalism but leaving a novice diver unattended at the bottom of the ocean doesn’t sound very competent to me. So I sat there, Trying to breath, Breathing rushed, Getting anxious, Thinking of what could do wrong, Panic setting in, But then I started to take some deep slow breaths, Evaluated the situation, Went over the equipment, Did I know how to use it all, Kept breathing slow, Calming the heart, And the mind, Began to focus outwards, What could I see, Stopped worrying about controlling the situation, Instead controlled myself. I was on my own for about 5 minutes, And in that time I learned how to be calm in the water, It enabled me to fall in love with diving, I have an advanced open water certification now and toyed with becoming an instructor in a long ago life. Two lessons in this: 1. Don’t choose your diving instructor (or coach!) just because they are cheap. Choose them because they have the experience, skillset and knowledge base to help you. 2. The problem is not the problem, Our ability to cope with the problem is the problem. How are you coping with your problems? #diving #problem #coping #copingmechanisms #markcarolancoaching
