Completed in record time 💪🎉: The solar park “Boitzenburger Land” for our company’s power generation is now in operation – after a record construction time of eleven months 😊. From 2024, Messe Frankfurt will draw 30 percent of its electricity requirements from this solar park in the Uckermark region of Germany. Covering an area of around 170 hectares - that's about 243 soccer fields - 321,000 modules with an output of around 200 gigawatt hours produce green electricity. This makes the solar park one of the largest PV plants in Germany. Converted, around 65,000 households can be supplied with climate-neutral electricity and 90,000 tons of carbon dioxide can be saved annually 🌍💚. Since 2020, our home venue has been supplied entirely with green electricity. As a result, we save around 19,000 tons of CO2 annually. \ GOLDBECK partners with Voltfang Exciting news: Our portfolio company Voltfang has announced a partnership with the construction company Goldbeck which paves the way for enhanced #energy efficiency in commercial buildings. By repurposing used batteries from electric vehicles, Voltfang creates energy storage systems that facilitate innovative and sustainable #electricity management in commercial buildings. The partnership kicks off with a pilot project featuring a sustainable 200 kWh electricity storage, photovoltaic systems and charging stations. This initiative aims to determine the optimal storage system size for various Goldbeck buildings, effectively scaling future projects with commercial storage solutions. With ambitious climate targets in the #building and #RealEstate sector, it becomes more and more evident that rapid solutions are needed immediately in order to scale the #decarbonisation of buildings. The partnership between Voltfang and Goldbeck is a prime example of how the real estate, construction and energy industries are increasingly converging, which opens up huge opportunities to anyone willing to think outside the box.

The European photovoltaic industry is facing a critical time: harsh competition from a massive wave of discounted Chinese modules after 10 years of survival on niche markets where customers acknowledge the value of buying made-in-Europe panels. The most critical points are the ingot growing and wafering steps. The industry is on its knees and only a handful of actors remains. It is absolutely critical to support the few actors pushing to rebuild an industry value chain on this steps. Without it, the European PV industry will remain cripled. The actors are here, but they need financial support and commercial commitment for the coming years. ROSI is striving to industrialize its kerf recycling process in Europe, but we need companies producing wafers and their European customers to do that.
