Education reflects the cultural values of a nation. One aspect that reflects cultural differences in education is the norm of addressing teachers. In Indonesia, we are accustomed to calling teachers "Bu" or "Pak." This is not just words; it signifies our respect for teachers. This habit is deeply ingrained among Indonesian children from an early age and continues into adulthood. From children to adults, we always use "Bu" and "Pak" when addressing teachers because it's considered polite and respectful. On the other hand, in Australia, there's a different custom regarding addressing teachers compared to Indonesia. Since 2018, some schools in Australia have implemented a new policy allowing students to address their teachers by their first name without using "Bu" or "Pak." This change aims to create a more relaxed learning environment and strengthen the sense of community. They choose to change this habit to foster openness and build closer relationships. It's important to remember that neither norm is inherently better than the other. Both reflect different cultural contexts and should be respected accordingly. Understanding these differences can also help us interact with people from different cultures, treating them as opportunities to learn about cultural diversity. By understanding and appreciating these differences, we can enrich our educational experiences and build better relationships in diverse educational environments. Source Liputan6.com. My hypothesis is that an Indonesian in #Singapore, #Vietnam, or #Malaysia may have a high average IQ than an Indonesian in #Indonesia because the environment and the school systems have an impact on the desire for intellectual learning. Better yet, take the average IQ of Indonesia scholarship awardees to foreign countries before and after they finish scholarship. That can really show whether #environment or #education #system gives a larger impact without the overall population impacting analysis.

1. Holistic Learning: Bhutan's "New Approach to Primary Education" emphasizes cultural awareness, environmental consciousness, and self-reliance alongside core academics. This holistic approach equips students with critical thinking skills and adaptability, valuable assets in diverse university environments. 2. Strong Foundation: The emphasis on Dzongkha, the national language, builds strong communication skills. Additionally, English language instruction from a young age prepares students for foreign universities where English is the primary medium. 3. Emphasis on Values: Bhutan's education system prioritizes Gross National Happiness (GNH) alongside academics. GNH fosters values like compassion and emotional intelligence, making Bhutanese students well-adjusted and responsible global citizens. 4. International Exposure: Many Bhutanese students pursue higher education abroad, particularly in India, Singapore, and Western countries. This exposure strengthens their intercultural understanding and prepares them for diverse learning environments. Bhutan's education system is a fascinating model, equipping students with the academic foundation, cultural awareness, and global perspective needed to excel in universities worldwide. #Bhutan #Education #GlobalLearning #GNH #StudyAbroad

After a long wait, finally my first contribution paper has been published in a book by Overseas Indonesian Students’ Association Alliance (PPI Dunia) entitled 'Negara dan Perlindungan Pelajar Diaspora: Jalan Panjang Sebuah Rancangan Undang-Undang.' This book sheds light on the challenges faced by diaspora students in asserting their rights both abroad and at home. Through this publication, we, as the next generation of leaders, advocate for our rights, viewing it as the first step towards enacting new legislation. https://lnkd.in/dHafBAmb “Protecting the entire Indonesian nation and all of Indonesia's blood." That is one of the sacred sentences written in the preamble to the 1945 Constitution. The hope for the presence of the Law on the Protection of Indonesian Students Abroad is a form of the state's imaginary embrace as a parent towards its children who are struggling to pursue education in a foreign country. I hope this contribution can be heard as far as it can reach, until the goals is reached. #Indonesiaemas2045

100 Indonesia's exemplary student 5 days of learning about how to care for diversity in Indonesia. The aim is to build a sense of tolerance among students in Indonesia. The more diversity, the more conflicts there will be. Therefore, building a sense of tolerance is very important for students. because this sense of intolerance has resulted in several cases, such as violence, bullying and religious blasphemy and so on. Therefore, the Maarif Institute provides guidance to all students in Indonesia to learn how to maintain diversity without any particular conflicts. Maarif Institute opens opportunities for students in Indonesia, especially high school students, to work together to build togetherness and increase a sense of tolerance into one forum, namely the nation's model student jambore. catalyst for diversity.

🆘 Is Indonesia's Education System Setting Us Up for Failure? 🆘 This morning, our team had an eye-opening discussion about the urgent need for education reform in Indonesia. The gap between the rich and the poor is widening with our rapid economic growth. While some children attend trilingual schools, many struggle to access basic education. The UKT issue has been making headlines, and the government must take responsibility. But the root problem is deeper – it lies in our education system itself. From a young age, we've been conditioned to accept corruption and seniority. OSPEK practices, for example, often perpetuate negative behaviors. It's time to shift the culture and mindset in our schools. Let's push for an education system that promotes honesty, equality, and opportunity for all. Join the conversation and share your thoughts. How do you think we can drive this change? #EducationReform #IndonesiaEducation #EqualityInEducation #FutureLeaders Sebastian A. Karla Nathania Chietra A. Made Agus Febri Setiawan

Spanning 12 years of free primary education, it is structured with six years of primary schooling (Prathom 1 to 6), followed by three years of lower secondary (Mattayom 1 to 3), and an additional three years of upper-secondary education (Mattayom 4 to 6).
