#TechThursday Leading up to the SPIE 2023 Optifab show taking place in Rochester, NY, we look forward to hearing from our team! Presentations on "Robotic smoothing" by Dan Brooks, Jennifer Coniglio, and past Optimax Apprentice, Steve Murty. "The next generation of x-ray synchrotron systems require increasingly precise mirrors to enable diffraction-limited focusing of x-ray beams. Due to the extremely short wavelength of the X-ray radiation, coated silicon mirrors must be used at grazing incidence to focus the X-ray beams. These mirrors need to be polished to nanometer level from error and are particularly susceptible to surface texture, including mid-spatial frequency errors and surface roughness. This talk will discuss efforts at Optimax to address this need through the advancement of robotic smoothing platforms and processes."

The incredible footage shown in our drop-test video shows a plastic bag, containing mixed components, being X-rayed using our super high-speed imaging as it falls to the ground from a height of 1.5m. An example of how our photon counting technology can support industries needing to precisely test what happens when an object is exposed to substantial external force. #droptest #photoncounting #imaging #xraytechnology #xrayimage #highspeedimaging #imagingsolutions #xray #impact
