Joyfully swimming in pee.🏊♀️🤿 Alternate Title: How to get people to suspend disbelief and go gaga over your brand. Answer: Attach your brand to a transformational identity. Context… I just spent half a day swimming at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private Bahamian island, with a couple thousand of my closest friends. I heard “did you just pee,” or “go ahead and just pee” no less that nine times. Were we all swimming in each others sweat and pee? Yeah…🤢 Will everyone go home and say the Disney Cruise was the best vacation of their life? Absolutely. 🚢 Why? Because we’re all the kind of people who go on Disney cruises now. On top of that, if you’ve been on more than one sailing you get silver, gold, platinum, or the newly released pearl status (25+ sailings). That means you loved it so much you came back and swam in pee again…and again, and again. Attach your brand to a transformational identity and people will forget the rough edges and momentary bad moments and love you for always. Image: Me after a much needed shower and beverage after that half day in the questionable water. #vacationthoughts #branding #brandmessaging #storybrand #marketing #disney #disneycruiseline #disneywish

Fined for a kiss?! Julien Bernard stopped for a special moment during the Stage 7 time trial of Tour de France 2024 and gave his wife a quick kiss. He was later fined 200CHF ($223 USD) for "unseemly or inappropriate behavior during the race and damage to the image of the sport" by UCI, the professional cycling governing body. Usually, fines are imposed for being pulled by cars, receiving food or throwing bottles outside designated areas, or not wearing a helmet. Balancing rules with empathy, maintaining consistency in enforcement, and recognizing the human element in professional settings are crucial for building a positive and productive workplace culture. Proportional penalties and transparent communication are key to building trust and respect within any organization. #Leadership #Empathy https://lnkd.in/d3Zm58k8

Perform better. Grow faster. Achieve more. | Board director | exec coach | strategic consultant | respectful disruptor| intn'l speaker
What's wrong with this picture? It looks like a sand beach with shells in the seaweed. But, the shells don't look quite right. Their shape looks odd. A bit too round. Curiosity got the better of me and I decided to take a closer look. The white "shells" are actually golf balls. There were about 20 of them on the beach all in the same area. How did they get there? Did they wash up? Did a box or container of golf balls spill them? Did someone place them there? Or, more likely, did someone who has a beachfront home practice their driving skills? There are lots of takeaways from this photo. 1. If you don't look closer, you won't see the bigger picture. 2. Our assumptions could substitute for curiosity and we could make the wrong assumptions. Shells vs. golf balls. 3. Anomalies can exist even in scenes we've experienced hundreds of times and think we know. 4. Perspective matters. If we had viewed this scene during high tide, we wouldn't have known what lays below it. 5. Timing matters. If we had walked this beach at a different time, the golf balls may or may not still be there. Being a responsible human, I removed the golf balls from the beach. I don't want them floating into the ocean to be ingested by sealife. Curious, what are your takeaways from this photo? #drwilma #bigpicture #responsibility #accountability #assumptions #leadership #curiosity

Black people don't do that! The "that" can be anything from swimming to hiking to skiing! As quiet as it's kept, Black folks often think this, too. Once, I was hiking in Shenandoah National Park, and a Black woman hiker, who I did not know AT ALL, approached me on the trail. She said, "Sis, please don't think I'm strange, but would you do me a favor? Can we take a picture together? My family doesn't believe that there are other Black people who hike and that being out here is unsafe. I want to show them that there are, in fact, other Black people out here!" I laughed and agreed to the take the photo because my family thinks hiking is "being out there in the bushes where bad things happen" and there are certainly no Black folks hiking, EXCEPT me! So, when I met Lisa Parham Jones, I immediately understood where she was coming from when she said, "I want to show the world that Black people do all the things and go everywhere, including Maine!" Through her business, Black Travel Maine, Lisa aims to be the champion of travelers who want to explore the many and various ways Black people have contributed to the country and world while also participating in luxury experiences without wondering if people like them are welcome. Happy Friday! As we head into the final quarter of the year, I drew inspiration from the Ryder Cup this morning, where teamwork, dedication, and unwavering belief in each other lead to greatness. Golf much like business, takes practice, strategy, precision and the honing of a craft. Its as much mental as physical. Tactical - short term vs bigger picture. Underdog stories, last minute putts, comebacks, remarkable journeys - are we talking about golf or great businesses? The Parallels between sport and business are never more apparent that in this tournament. In golf, just like in our professional lives, every stroke matters. Success is not just about one individual's performance, but the collective effort of the entire team. Together, they can achieve with a shared vision remarkable feats. Remember, it's not the size of the task that matters, but the size of our commitment to excel. This also echoed for me, that here at Amoria Bond we truly believe in learning, honing your craft, team work, clear goals and that idea to keep going one better for our clients, candidates, community and our company. Here's to an October filled with inspiration and teamwork! #RyderCupSpirit #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork #FridayMotivation
