My team is hiring! But, before you hit apply, please know we're looking for some specifics here. My team has taken on the functionality testing for all Editorial features Peacock will release and we need someone to come in to join our merry band of testing misfits. It will be a lot of work. It will be building lots of test. It will be lots of fun. With that in mind, are you someone who likes to take things apart (or just straight up break them) and put them back together? Are you someone who likes to think of all the crazy ways something can be used and see what happens when you push the button to make it happen? Are you someone who is OK spending 5 straight hours clicking the same button on 150 different rails? If so, this might be the job for you! Have you worked in editorial curation before? Do you have an innate understanding of editorial, editorial functionality, and digital publishing systems? Do you like living your life on a rollercoaster where things will always break, always be on fire, and change constantly? If not, this probably isn't the right fit. Lastly, to be up-front, we are looking for someone who is truly interested in this. The position is a great way to get your foot in the door with an incredible team doing amazing stuff... if you are truly interested in testing functionality and building a better mousetrap with an Editorial team. This likely isn't a step up to start, it is a lateral move taking a chance on us and yourself. We want someone equipped to help build the future of this new endeavor and who will grow with it. If that's not you, I'm sorry, but there will be other opportunities. Just trying to be real. https://lnkd.in/gk-mGCaq

We are officially looking for a Head of Product Marketing at Jellyfish. WE ARE HIRING A HEAD OF PRODUCT MARKETING! (I think all caps make the algorithm happy.) I'll list the criteria for the job, but first, I’d like to sell you on joining this fantastic company. In no particular order... 1. We are leading and shaping a new and emerging market. This opportunity doesn’t happen very often. 2. We are lucky to serve brilliant engineering teams across the globe, from high-growth startups to Fortune 1000. 3. We build brands, not jobs. My focus is primarily on the team that I serve. I want to build the company but also the personal brands of the team. You will not have to use a resume to get your next job. 4. The next few years will be career-defining for the Jellyfish team. Our product is built for this environment, and our growth shows. 5. We obsess over the experience of our employees, prospects, and customers. It’s the only thing that makes us relevant. Our job is to surprise and delight. 6. We have a great new office in Boston but an even better remote work environment. 7. We live by the philosophy of “share before ready.” Perfection has no place on this team. It’s about focus and iteration. 8. We have fun. Now, the criteria. 1. Relevant experience - supporting teams that sell to software engineering teams through operations, productivity, analytics, and/or intelligence space. 2. Multi-Product - leading product marketing in a multi-product SaaS company with an upmarket or enterprise focus 3. Building Teams - execute strategically with a focus on measurable outcomes, building and developing a high-performing team in a fast-growing SaaS company There is so much more, BUT I'll leave it right there.

Strategic Communications Executive | Storycrafter & Brand Builder | Executive Visibility, Ethical Communications Expert | People-First Leader
The following post from Joe Zappa is indicative of a major problem in a lot of industries--not just adtech. When "editorial" content is focused on "product" marketing, there is an immediate disconnect between the job and the company--and sets both up for potential failure. --Principles of editorial content are based on a two-way street of opinions ( i.e., an article presenting the opinion of the publisher, writer, or editor) and allowing users/readers to share opinions. --Principles of product marketing are based on sales (i.e., touting benefits of a product); it is a one-way street that doesn't always allow for feedback sharing. Users/Readers don't want to see rehashed sales content, do they? Joe is right--perhaps the time is right to flip the switch. #contentmarketingstrategy #productmarketing #adtech
The Trade Desk, a public ad tech company, is hiring an "editorial director" with a base salary of $215-395k. The job description doesn't mention "thought leadership." It focuses on "product marketing." A lot of companies, in adtech or otherwise, have products their existing customers love but that few of their potential customers (let alone investors, talent, etc.) have heard of. In the beginning, companies tend to grow with founder-led sales and then events and direct outreach. But ultimately, content becomes critical to bridging that gap between your own network and the industry at large. TTD is investing several millions of dollars per year, at least, into bridging that gap. If you're leading or marketing a company stuck at, say, mid-seven figures or low eight figures in revenue, you're not going to spend $1-5M on content next year. But in my experience, many of those companies are spending $0 — certainly less than six figures — on content. It might be time to start bridging that gap.
