I was honoured to be asked to host a session on producing TikTok native ad creative and how else brands can win on TikTok with search, shop, lives and more! Here is the playbook for success: 🎉 Relentless outreach to TikTok Shop affiliates - it's not always the ones you expect that are highest sellers so be open to testing - we reach out to around 250 new potential affiliates per day per client 🎉 Strong open collaboration and target collaboration strategy to make sure you're rewarding your best selling affiliates 🎉 Working with a niche set of influencers to get guaranteed cut through on the FYP from someone with a genuine community 🎉 Always on organic as a way of driving brand - our recommendation is not to sell on your organic content but build a community over the long term 🎉 Paid media activation. This is in the form of both spark (boosting influencer and affiliate content) and dark (a/b testing multiple pieces of self created content) 🎉 Live streaming is a brilliant tactic if you can commit to multiple lives per work over a 6-12 month period... and you accept that your first 20 or so live streams won't lead to much revenue! Reactive marketing at its best and the results are incredible. Pri & Mark Mat & Alan John & Lewis These 3 videos have a combined viewing of just under 2 million people! Inspired by the most recent M&S campaign these 3 brands were quick to create their own version and they received incredible results. What I love is the simplicity of how they're filmed - they literally took out a phone and created content. No high production or endless sign off just a great piece of reactivity and the results speak for themselves!

There is no point telling a story on TikTok if your hook is boring! The storytelling format on TikTok is brilliant - it brings the audience on a journey with the creator and gets them really invested. The issue with TikTok is that people vote with their thumbs... if they don't immediately buy into your video (or if they think it's an ad) they'll immediately scroll on. When you're editing your video, spend the majority of your time thinking about what will grab the attention of the audience. Here are a few hook options that we like to use at Nonsensical: 😡 Negative hook - example - this is why I'm never buying X again... 🤔 Intrigue hook - example - I can't believe I didn't know this about... 📃 List hook - example - here are 3 reasons why I love X... Go back and watch the videos you've posted and see how you could improve the hooks. There is no harm in changing the hook and reposting content too!! #tiktok #tiktokmarketing #tiktokstrategy

Is your content being viewed by the right audience demographic on TikTok? TikTok's Analytics lets you see what viewers of your content are also watching - both creators and specific videos We bang on about making sure your content is sitting in the right Tok - that is the audience niche on TikTok that your content is being served to For example, if your biggest and most important audience niche is people who have a dog then you want to make sure your content is being pushed out to the for you pages of people who are engaging in DogTok or DogOwnerTok By viewing your analytics on TikTok you'll be able to see if the viewers of your content are viewing other content within your target niche You can then decide if you need to adapt your content to make sure it's appearing in the right niche by changing your hashtags, labels you're adding to videos, the contents of the video and voiceover. TikTok has dropped their new AI Avatars as part of TikTok Symphony - their suite of AI products This video has been created using a custom ai avatar and you've got to say it's mighty impressive. TikTok Symphony has created two types of avatars: Stock Avatars: pre-built avatars created using paid actors that are licensed for commercial use. Stock Avatars allow businesses of all sizes to add a human touch to their content with quick and accessible global creators from a diverse range of backgrounds, nationalities, and over 30 languages. Custom Avatars: crafted to represent a creator or a brand spokesperson with multi-language abilities, giving creators and marketers the control and power to scale their likeness and brand. For creators, they can leverage their own likeness and construct multi-lingual avatars to expand their global reach and brand collaborations. For brands, not only can they build their own Custom Avatars with their brand IP, spokesperson or a partnered creator, they can now easily work with creators from around the world to help localise their global campaigns. You will still need to label content created using AI as such when posting content on TikTok but in reality how many people will actually notice. This is definitely an exciting development but certainly there will be conversations happening about how brands can actually use these tools - some thoughts below: 1. There is a huge risk using stock avatars particularly if your competitors happen to use the same ones... or stock avatars are used to promote products that you don't want associated with your brand 2. The contracts required for a company spokesperson to be made into AI will be wild... what if they leave the organisation? What if it's a creator that doesn't want to be associated with you anymore... how much are you going to need to pay them?? Does it actually make content creation cheaper? 3. The videos are good for talking heads but you can't show off a product being used? These avatar videos actually feel more suited to LinkedIn to tell a story but not quite sure they actually do the job for creating engaging videos for TikTok This is very much the first step into digital AI avatars and I'm excited to see it develop! #tiktok #tiktokstrategy #tiktokmarketing #ai
