However, they are still commonly interpreted and operationalised as totally separate tactics that in many cases sit within different teams. It’s a fact that Influencer marketing has been firmly established in B2C for years but it’s fast becoming a part of the B2B marketing toolkit as buyer’s consumption habits and sources of research have changed. For example: 90% of business decision-makers initiate their purchasing process by researching opinions from industry experts and peers (Source: Brandfit). Influencer marketing returns 11x the ROI of other promoted content. 92% of buyers trust recommendations and suggestions from friends and family more than advertising (Source: Nielsen) Employee advocacy, meanwhile, has been established much longer but it usually sits separately from influencer marketing, when they really should work together. Furthermore, Employee advocacy can have a significant part to play in your employee influencer program’s success. They go hand-in-hand and can build momentum much faster than when they operate in silo. In my opinion, Influencer marketing and Employee Advocacy would work so much better when we align our strategies together. While we can't give one simple answer to this often raised question, I loved exploring this exciting topic for W&V, Werben & Verkaufen. ✍ 💻 💡 As the Brand Manager of Kolsquare, Europe's No. 1 Influencer Marketing Platform, I get to witness the power and increased importance of #BigData and #SoftwareAutomations for the #CreatorEconomy on a day-to-day basis. Influencer Marketing is one of the fastest growing industries in the digital sector. Massively scalable, KOL campaigns have reached a stage where automations are needed to help keep up with the accelerated pace of #DataAnalytics, #PerformanceOptimization, #ContentCollection and more. But let's not forget that the huge success of #DigitalCreators comes from being exactly what they are - creative! 💫 How authentic can #AIgeneratedcontent actually be? Can a #KOL stay meaningful and legit for his or her community by relying on computer generated assets? And who's making sure communities - often composed of many minors - are aware where they are dealing with human or artificial intelligence? For me personally, there are still too many open questions before really getting into the #AIHype. Just like sponsored posts, AI generated content should be identified as such. Companies also need to place extra diligence to make sure users know where there data are collected and used - still a gray area in #SocialMedia and the internet as such. For me, social media should first and foremost serve society and humans, and despite of all its flaws, there is great potential for it to be a driver for enhancing connections, furthering public education, and addressing social and environmental issues. I know there's still a long way to go, and my dream is to establish a wide-ranging #EthicsCode for social media as it exists for (some) traditional media such as The Associated Press. But dreams are made to be big, aren't they?
