Auditor identification at auditee sites More and more I am asked to confirm my identification when I arrive for an announced routine audit at auditee sites. And I wonder why? If it is an unannounced inspection or audit, it makes perfectly sense and it is a must… but for an announced audit when the auditor has signed a confirmation letter and emailed it to the auditee? Does it happen that a person turns up at an auditee site and pretend to be an auditor under a false name or is it simply because auditee personnel heard something about inspectors turning up for unannounced inspections and have to confirm identity, now the auditee apply this to announced audits as well? Please help me to understand this as it makes no sense to me why auditors for routine announced audits have to confirm identification befote you can enter an auditee site.

Some days ago we had a Surveillance Audit with Bureau Veritas Group. This exercise was engaging especially with making sure documents were up-to- date and that relevant clauses in the document/graphs,tables were easy to explain to auditors/my supervisors' understanding. I thought it will be cool to share some lessons learnt working with my supervisor. To keep that robust engagement with your supervisor, it is good to consider the following strategies: 1. Establish yourself as a subject matter expert: Demonstrate deep knowledge and understanding of your area of work. 2. Build trust: Consistently deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines. 3. Show initiative: Proactively identify and address problems before they escalate. 4. Offer help: Volunteer to assist with tasks and projects outside your normal responsibilities. 5. Provide innovative solutions: Think creatively and suggest new approaches to challenges. 6. Communicate effectively: Clearly articulate your ideas and solutions. 7. Be responsive: Quickly respond to requests and inquiries. 8. Seek feedback and learn from criticism: Show a growth mindset and a willingness to improve. 9. Take ownership: Show accountability for your work and the team's success. 10. Stay visible: Regularly update your supervisor on your projects and achievements. By implementing these strategies, I was positioned as a go-to problem-solver and I have increased the likelihood of my supervisor to reach out to me again for solution(s).
