Time to recover from #SMBE23 Conference 🧠💣🤩 🧬Why is publishing a scientific paper becoming so expensive? 🧬Why do researchers accept this absurd system where you have to pay for getting knowledge and pay for spreading knowledge? There are actually ways to change this system! Each researcher can contribute to make the scientific community more inclusive and equal, still aiming at the highest scientific quality. --> https://lnkd.in/eKeRi5wf #SMBE23 conference was a true wave of inspiring talks and discussions about the latest in #genomics, #molecularbiology and #evolution 💚 #ferrara #smbe #evolutionarybiology #genomics #molecularbiology #peerreview

🌟 Last week at the SnotraBio NGS Bootcamp, we delved into the crucial step of generating a feature count matrix from alignment files. 🌟 Understanding the alignment step in RNAseq is not just about using the right tools; it’s about grasping the domain knowledge behind it. A proficient bioinformatician seamlessly integrates biological insights with technical expertise. At SnotraBio, we emphasize this blend, ensuring our participants are well-versed in both the science and the tools. #NGS #Bioinformatics #RNAseq #SnotraBio #Genomics #DataAnalysis

🔬 New Publication Alert: I am thrilled to share with the scientific community our latest paper, now published on bioRxiv: "Insights into the Evolution of the Actinopterygian Mobilome Post-Teleost Genome Duplication". This research marks a significant step in our understanding of the evolutionary dynamics of transposable elements (TEs) in the context of genome duplication events, particularly focusing on the teleost genome duplication (TGD) and its impact on the ray-finned fish mobilome. A huge thanks to my PI and collaborators for their contributions to this groundbreaking study. We believe these insights will pave the way for further research in genomic evolution and the role of TEs in macroevolutionary processes. Feel free to read the full paper and share your thoughts on these intriguing findings at https://lnkd.in/ede7ZYUy #Genomics #EvolutionaryBiology #TEs #ResearchPublication #ScienceCommunity

A big part of my job is working with customers in the biopharma/health care fields, but my academic background is actually in plant evolutionary biology. I really appreciated reading this very interesting application of mitochondrial sequencing and copy number analysis to look at different rates of evolution across angiosperms (flowering plants). It’s a good illustration of the power and range of applications of multi-omics! #ngs #genomics #plantsarecooltoo 🌱 🧬 https://lnkd.in/es84-vk2
