🚀 A few months ago, I embarked on my SHRM certification journey. As a long-time manager, I have always been fascinated by the striking similarities between fundraising and human resources (HR). Over the years, I have learned that both fields share a common core: the art of building and nurturing relationships. 🤝❤️ 📊 Fundraisers and HR professionals alike rely on data-driven decision-making to drive success. Whether leveraging donor data to create personalized appeals or using workforce analytics to optimize performance, both roles harness the power of insights to inform strategic initiatives and drive better outcomes. 📈💡 🌈 Moreover, fundraisers and HR professionals share a deep commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive communities. From cultivating a culture of philanthropy among donors and volunteers to promoting diversity, equity, and belonging in the workplace, both roles play a pivotal part in shaping the values and culture of their organizations. 💪🌍 💡 Recognizing these commonalities has inspired me to pursue SHRM certification, allowing me to dive deeper into HR and expand my skill set. I am excited to explore new ways to integrate HR strategies into my fundraising efforts and tap into the expertise of my HR colleagues. 🚀🔥 💪 At the end of the day, fundraising and HR are both people-centric fields. By putting people first and leveraging the power of human connection, we can build stronger, more resilient organizations that make a lasting impact on the world. 🌟💖 #Fundraising #HumanResources #Philanthropy #Nonprofits #PeopleFirst #SHRMCertification #FundraisingMeetsHR #DataDriven

According to Deloitte, companies that have a strong sense of purpose experience 40% higher levels of employee retention compared to other organizations. This point was also emphasized by Brian Kinzie, owner of Tinker HR and advisor on MPWRPeople's Advisory Council, during the MPWR Hour event. Brian highlighted that the main reason people leave their jobs is often due to poor management. It is clear that creating a purpose-driven and well-managed work environment is crucial for retaining employees.
