On days like today, I really appreciate Flutter Entertainment Plc for offering employees yearly volunteer days. Today I used some of my volunteer hours out with family and friends raising awareness and much needed funds for Oesophageal Cancer Fund (OCF) in Aldi Terenure. Lollipop Day brings awareness to signs and symptoms of Oesophageal Cancer while raising funds for increased research. I met so many lovely people this morning and got to talk to them about the importance of Lollipop Day and how the Lollipops themselves can be used to highlight symptoms like difficulty swallowing. Some tears may have been shed as I got to speak with individuals who have also been impacted by this terrible cancer but at the end of the day we shared memories of those who lost their battles and reminisced of them being with us fundraising in years gone. If you are in a position to donate to the Oesophageal Cancer Fund, please do and if you can't donate, please just share and talk about the symptoms that are linked to Oesophageal Cancer. Talking about the signs and symptoms can help someone detect it that bit earlier and they can get help.
