Cheadle, U.K.- based members of our Design team were recently honored with two product design Red Dots for their work on innovations from Breville®. The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s largest design competitions and most sought-after marks of quality. The Breville Edge Series, consisting of a kettle and toaster, modernizes mid-century design principles. It features clean lines with soft curves executed in chrome. A high-gloss base enhances its look and insulates the worktop. The kettle also generates 75 percent less steam, which benefits small spaces. Red Dot Design Awards judges complimented the line’s minimalist, retro aesthetics and impressive functionality. The Breville Barista Signature espresso machine combines formal elegance with user-friendly design. It has an adjustable grinder, precise dosing for one or two cups of espresso, a convenient swiveling milk frother, and an integrated cup warmer. Its minimalist control panel in black piano lacquer features a digital display and illuminated chrome buttons. Judges noted its user-friendliness and minimalist yet robust appearance. Paper Mate® InkJoy® Gel is the number one assorted gel pen in the U.S. Earlier this year, the brand expanded its InkJoy collection with the launch of its InkJoy Gel Bright! pens. Featuring vivid ink that pops on light and dark paper, the new pens are designed to inspire writing and drawing in more places and help users Feel the Joy™ with even more creative self-expression. At the World Premiere of Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2, Paper Mate celebrated guests’ joy with a life-size display wall of their thoughts written using InkJoy Gel Bright! pens. In the film, the Emotion, Joy, helps the main character, Riley, focus on joyful moments while navigating all of life’s emotions. "We love this collaboration with Disney and Pixar on the release of Inside Out 2,” said Lina El-Beshbeeshy, Global Brand Director for Paper Mate. "Joy is at the center of the Paper Mate brand, giving our collaboration with the film such a natural and authentic tie to our purpose. Today, we wrap up CommUnity Week, our annual global celebration of our #OneNewell team. This event features five days of programming that highlights our commitment to our employees and the communities where we operate. In support of this year’s theme, Creativity & Innovation, local teams around the world participated in activities like arts and crafts with recycled materials and Sharpie and Paper Mate products in Hammersmith, UK, floral bouquet arranging in Kalamazoo, MI, a hiking challenge in Guangzhou, China, a Newell product giveaway in Manchester, TN and a collaborative values canvas drawn using Sharpie® Creative Markers in Melbourne, Australia. Teams also served their communities through charitable drives and volunteering opportunities, like a book drive in McMinnville, TN, that focused on books about creativity, assembling creative snack kits for Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, and creativity bags for children undergoing cancer treatment in Gastonia, NC and an art activity with seniors in Bristol, UK. We are grateful for our employees’ enthusiasm and participation throughout CommUnity Week. Thank you for celebrating with us! 💙

We’re halfway through CommUnity Week, our annual global event that celebrates the unity of our #OneNewell team and highlights our commitment to our communities. This year’s theme, Creativity & Innovation, is supported by events aiming to unlock the power of creativity and strengthen our community and those in which we operate. On Monday, employees were invited to participate in a centering “Creativity through Mindfulness” yoga and meditation session. On Tuesday, our Consumer & Shopper Insights team hosted a discussion about cultivating curiosity and developing habits that nurture creativity. Teams around the world also celebrated with local activations like decorating ceramics with Sharpie® creative markers in Spain, spending time with therapy dogs in Atlanta, GA, volunteering at a food bank near our Bristol, U.K. location, and more.
