Optimizing Care for EGPA: Evidence-Based Strategies for Diagnosis, Management, and Treatment Authors: Ora Singer, MD, MS; Eileen Wang, MD, MPH; Michael E. Wechsler, MD, MMSc Patients with EGPA experience a complex and challenging journey. The rare disease is characterized by systemic vasculitis, leading to inflammation of blood vessels, often accompanied by an abnormal accumulation of eosinophils in tissues and organs. EGPA is challenging to diagnose and differentiate from other related eosinophilic disorders. This difficult disease presents healthcare providers with a challenge to effectively diagnose and provide timely interventions to prevent severe complications for patients with EGPA. In this program, a multidisciplinary expert faculty panel discusses EGPA pathophysiology, diagnostic criteria, and evidence-based management strategies to improve patient outcomes. Patient case scenarios and patient perspective video clips will illustrate challenges and management strategies for providers who treat patients with EGPA. Today is #WorldBronchiectasisDay. Bronchiectasis is a disease of the airway becoming inflamed, irreversibly dilated, and impacted with mucus. Impaired mucociliary clearance may be a source of recurrent infections and worsening of the disease process, so a variety of ways have been developed to help accentuate mucus removal from the bronchial airway. We are pleased to share this free #CME program, Keeping Pace with Bronchiectasis: Early Diagnosis, Management, and Emerging Treatments featuring Charles L. Daley, MD, Steven E. Lommatzsch, MD and Pamela J. McShane, MD. Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to: 1, Review bronchiectasis burden, etiologies, and risk factors. 2. Apply best practices for early diagnosis of bronchiectasis. 3. Identify the role of neutrophilic inflammation in patients with bronchiectasis. 4. Select best options for management of bronchiectasis. An estimated 35% of people living with cystic fibrosis (CF) – including both children and adults – are unaware that they have the condition. Failure to detect CF at newborn screening may lead to diagnostic delays persisting as long as into adulthood. Missed or delayed diagnoses of CF and CFTR-related disorders can have important implications for disease progression and health outcomes. Participants in this program will increase their awareness about missed diagnoses of CF, examine factors that lead to missed diagnoses including race, rare mutations and pancreatic sufficiency, and analyze options for patient testing and treatment of suspected CF and CFTR-related disorders. This online program is led by Dr. Jennifer Taylor-Cousar, MD, MSCS, ATSF; Dr. Jared J. Eddy, MD, MPhil, MSc; and Sara Dederman Brayshaw, RN, BS, MSN. Target Audience: Infectious Disease Physicians, Pulmonologists, Gastroenterologists, Primary Care Physicians, advanced practice providers and registered nurses. 1.0 CME/CNE https://brnw.ch/21wKRUw
