PROBLEM❗ The Stellenbosch University IT division required an online platform (initially due to hybrid working). The platform needed to be coherent and streamlined so that support services could share and keep track of documents for approval. The process required each teammate to take ownership, just like previous non-digitalized processes. The expectation was that various steps were needed to maintain standard operational procedures. OF LEARNING AND TEACHERS. We all have to learn continuously. For a faster learning we need teachers. I am a teacher myself. It is one of my passions: teaching. Let me share a reflection from the book I am reading (The Social Animal, by David Brooks). Within weeks students forget 90% of the knowledge they learn in class. The only point of being a teacher is to do more than impart facts; it´s to change the way students perceive the world, to help students absorb the rules of a discipline. Much unconsciuous learning is done through imitation. We must force students to make mistakes. The pain of getting things wrong and the effort required to overcome error create an emotional experience that helps burn things into the mind.
