We partnered up with the #rwgcommunity, founded by Zuzana Kalous, to advocate for mental health awareness!
Namshi is proud to have been a part of RWG Community’s Move for Mental Health Awareness Month Fitness Disco Party, a night dedicated to strengthening both body and mind. The event featured a variety of express workouts led by talented instructors and community partners, including Body Combat, Zumba, and Yoga and a powerful speech on the importance of mental health by a guest speaker.
This event served not only as a fun fitness challenge but also as a platform to advocate for mental health awareness in Saudi Arabia.
We at Namshi strongly believe in supporting a healthy lifestyle, and that includes mental well-being. We're so grateful to have been a part of this inspiring initiative and look forward to continuing to support mental health awareness in the community.

There is an ever-mounting wealth of studies that highlight the positive correlation between mental health and physical exercise! 🌟
The study linked below breakdowns in layman's terms the biological mechanisms at play which explain this connection and concludes that physical exercise improves depressive and anxiety symptoms! 🔬
I think some awareness of these underlying mechanisms is important to keep in mind, as it affirms that the positive impact of exercise on mental health isn’t simply allegorical or a subjective opinion, but a measurable fact supported by the literature 📚
That’s why it can be so valuable to focus on utilising physical activity as a tool for our mental health! 🧠
However, finding time outside of work hours for these activities can be difficult or detract from time we may rather spend with family
That’s why at Muay Thai Wellness we offer our workshops on-site or at privately hired studios near your office! So the stress and worry of getting to the gym can be removed while you and your colleagues can reap the benefits of physical activity together! 🙌

It has been 3 years since I started taking my mental health seriously.
I was in a dark place then – breaking down in the middle of muay thai sessions, constant stress headaches, not being able to sleep properly and being miserable with myself and where I was at in life.
I tried to shrug it all off and soldier on. However, it took a terrible combination of burnout and breakdown at work to wake me up to the realities of my frail mental health. I wish my mental health had not deteriorated to the extent that it did, but it did.
Reflecting back on this, there are two things I think that could have helped me then:
😟 I wish that the discussion of mental health was normalised and not made out to be a sign of weakness. I admit that I was afraid of how I was going to be perceived if I spoke up about the struggles that I was facing. I’ve since realised that speaking out about my feelings helped to normalise mental health issues and, in fact, make me feel less alone in what I was going through
🤗 I wish that I was met with more compassion and understanding. It took time for me to finally decide to flag the challenges I was facing but my concerns were dismissed without any empathy. This led to a worsening of my mental state which eventually pushed me to seek counselling
These two factors escalated my mental health crisis and the rest is, as they say, history.
I am mentally stronger and better at protecting my mental health today. However, it has been a long journey of intentional mental health recovery and care while building resilience.
I still see a therapist and use muay thai as physical therapy. I am more mindful of my boundaries and am kinder to myself. Most importantly I know when to walk away and when to flag situations that are negatively affecting my mental health.
I hope my sharing can help affect change, that it can help #normalisementalhealth and that in a small way I can #breakthecyclebethechange and ditch the stigma. You can read my previous honest sharing of my challenges with mental health here https://lnkd.in/gX-dfBec

The importance of investing in building and maintaining good relationships…
Substantial evidence shows building and maintaining good quality relationships leads to longer lives with improved mental health; conversely, loneliness and isolation remain the key predictors for poor psychological and physical health
An extensive study published in the 2012 book Triumphs of Experience, showed that happiness and health aren’t a result of wealth, fame, or working hard, but instead arise from our relationships
It’s this correlation between mental health and positive relationships that is the basis for our aim at Muay Thai Wellness
We seek to help establish, build, and grow fun and positive connections between colleagues through our Thai boxing workshops! 🥊
By building positive relationships in the workplace, we can all be on our way to happier, healthier, more connected lives 🙏

Too many choices means nothing gets done.
Have you all experienced this?
When I started talking to people with very busy and demanding schedules - ✅new moms
✅IT Professionals
✅entrepreneurs
✅doctors
✅professionals working through different zones
✅people who have a lot of caregiving responsibilities
regarding how they get their daily dose of exercise and the challenges they face,
2 things seemed to be a common factor
1. Not knowing WHERE to start
2. Not knowing with WHOM to start.
Both the issues have the same root - too many choices!
That is how I devised YOUGA.
In the era where MORE is considered BETTER, I chose to give LESS.
5 pre-recorded yoga classes per month.
✅ with very detailed and clear instructions
✅ covering asana, pranayama, meditation and relaxation - all packed in 30 mins
✅ personal connect with the trainer to get guided
✅ community support of like minded people to keep you motivated in the journey
And the results have been phenomenal.
People keep up with their regular practice and have been seeing significant improvement in their physical and mental health.
But this month, am offering MORE as it is our anniversary month.
Instead of 5 classes, YOUGA comes with 10 class!
MEGA YOUGA Indeed!

This week we’ve been focusing on #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, an important time to pause, reflect and prioritise our mental health.
In an extremely busy and exciting year for the Olympic and Paralympic high-performance community, prioritising your mental health has never been more important.
This week the sector has come together to shine a spotlight on all things mental health:
💭 Sam Cumming, Head of Mental Health at the UK Sports Institute (UKSI) participated in a panel discussion hosted by The City of London to mark Mental Health Awareness Week, focusing on this year’s theme: moving for mental health.
💭 Dr Oliver Sindall, UKSI Mental Health Lead, featured in a UK Anti-Doping panel discussion to mark #CleanSportWeek, where the discussion focused on a para-athlete’s journey to the podium.
💭 Former Paralympic swimmer and UKSI Performance Lifestyle Practitioner James Hollis, PLY shares his thoughts on mental health and transition from elite sport in an informative video. Watch it here ➡️ https://bit.ly/3UDGo60
💭 UKSI share the Games Time Journal, a tool for athletes and staff to nurture their wellbeing throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer. (https://bit.ly/3WEQvua)
UK Sports Institute have a fantastic Mental Health Team made up of experts and passionate practitioners who offer support and advice on a variety of topics to optimise mental health support and education within the high-performance community.
We asked them what their top tips are when it comes to looking after your mental health, here’s what they said:
1. Make sure you know yourself. What are the signs that you are becoming stressed or burnt out and do you, and those around you, know how to recognise them?
2. Think ahead, and plan accordingly. What stressors lie ahead and how can you manage these in advance?
3. Have a variety of techniques to implement. Not all stressors are the same, you might want to think about which techniques are best for short-term, medium-term and longer-term stressors.
4. Be aware of the cumulative effect of multiple relatively low-level stressors, as well as the big things. If you have lots of demands on you and your stress bucket is full, it can be a seemingly small or trivial thing that causes an overspill.
5. Keep an eye on your baseline stress levels and engaging in regular destressing activities that are restorative. This is really useful in reducing the risks of low-level stressor pushing you to a point where you feel overwhelmed and unable to cope.
We hope you’ve taken some time for yourself this week to do something that boosts your mental health and energises you ahead of the Games. Make sure you think about the tips above and find ways to include them in your day-to-day.

It's a powerful practice, a compassionate invitation.
Sometimes, the best thing we can do for ourselves or someone experiencing the sorrow of loss is to simply allow, soften, and say yes.
No time limit or instruction manual on how you should or shouldn't feel. Here are some gentle ways to deal with grief:
1️⃣ Seek Expert Help: Just like TPTC does, don't hesitate to reach out to grief counselors or therapists who specialize in helping individuals cope with loss. They can provide valuable support and guidance during this challenging time.
2️⃣ Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself throughout the grieving process.
3️⃣ Share Your Feelings: Whether through talking with a close friend, writing in a journal, or joining a support group, expressing your feelings can be incredibly healing.
4️⃣ Engage in activities that help you honor the memory of your loved one whether it is lighting a candle, creating a memory box, or planting a tree.
5️⃣ Practice Mindfulness: Mindfulness techniques, such as meditation and deep breathing, can help you stay present and process your emotions in a healthy way. If you're facing a loss or supporting someone who is, know that you are not alone.

It’s #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek!
This year the focus is on moving more for your mental health. Everyone can get the mental health benefits of moving more, it’s all about finding what works for you.
When we talk about “movement” in relation to physical activity, we really mean any way you move your body that uses energy. This might be everyday activities such as walking, dancing or gardening, or more intensive activities such as running, swimming, and playing sports. Every kind of movement is valid and it’s up to you which you choose to do.
Since May is also National Walking Month, why not give the #Try20 challenge a go – doing 20 minutes of walking every day. Our team at the National Wellbeing Hub are continuing with our lunchtime walks to get our minutes in.
Whether you’re walking or doing something more strenuous, get involved by sharing your moments of movement for your mental health.
