Want to see a sneak preview behind the scenes of Portlantis? Check the video below! On June 6, the Port of Rotterdam with their development partner EIC Mainport Rotterdam officially received the keys from contractor G. van der Ven B.V. Aannemingsbedrijf for the exhibition space and visitor centre Portlantis! The symbolic ceremony marked the technical completion of the building. The next stage for the project will involve the completion of the interiors and the installation of the Kossmanndejong-designed exhibition before the building opens in the Spring of 2025. Portlantis is an exhibition space and visitor centre for the Port of Rotterdam. Located at the port’s western-most point, on the artificially reclaimed sands of the Maasvlakte 2, the twisting five-storey stack of spaces will give spectacular views while educating visitors about the port’s function and evolution during one of its most important transitions – the shift to sustainable, low-energy operations. Can you imagine the work that goes into creating a stand of this size and stature? 🤯 Every design element, health & safety aspect, brand requirement and customer impact consideration needs a level of knowledge and detail that takes years to perfect. (Luckily enough, we have plenty of that here between everyone. 😂) #exhibitionstands #b2b #b2c #standdesign #exhibitions #customerexperience #projectdevelopment #projectmanagement
Watch our largest exhibition stand to date come to life! 🤩 Months of meticulous planning and days of construction resulted in our biggest stand yet. And here's the twist - halfway through we flipped the design! 🙃 Initially horizontal, the design wasn't quite hitting the mark. So in a moment of clarity, we turned it on its head - and now cannot imagine it any other way! 🤩 What's your biggest eureka moment? If you're planning your next exhibition (of any size!), DM to see what we can create for you. ✨ #primarylive #exhibition #exhibitionstand #exhibitionstands #exhibitiondesign #exhibitions #eventstream #europeanevents #design

EXHIBITION | Macao International Art Biennale 2023 As part of this year’s Macao Biennale, Tim Stonor has been commissioned to create three short films on the theme of ‘The city as a cathedral of corporeal encounter’: ‘Habitat. Artery. Place‘ assembles the networks of built and natural space that define London: above, below and at ground level. ‘Backstreets to boulevards’ takes a journey through the spatial hierarchy of London’s streets, from local lanes to major arteries. ‘City of villages’ maps London’s walkability, using an algorithm that links everyday destinations to reveal a web of hyper-local centres. Opening to the public today, the films are being shown in the London Pavilion of the Biennale, curated by Roger W. and organised by the British Consulate General in Hong Kong and the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region. Speaking about the works, Tim said: “This commission presents three map-based animations of London that explore the interconnectivity of its urban systems: those networks that create opportunities for human encounter and everything that then flows from those (mostly gentle) collisions. The overlap between art and science is a common ground we’ve enjoyed since the beginnings of space syntax in the 1980s: the play of light, sequencing of information and serendipity of outcomes matter as much to research-based practitioners as they do to the makers and observers of art.” #mapping #exhibition #spatialnetwork #urbanmodel #cities #walkability #spacesyntax #art #science https://lnkd.in/eQvVb3ju

For the Architectural Record, Andrew Holder of the LADG | LA Design Group, Inc. describes his office's exhibition design for Eternal Medium: Seeing the World in Stone at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and asks, "As a model for architecture, can the white cube be repurposed to center artifacts, be earnest, include things that originate outside the exhibition, and allow those things to represent themselves as entities separate from the context of the institution? Further, can it do this while retaining something of its power?" https://lnkd.in/eTkuGgyM

Looking forward to adding some of these assets to our $3bn asset portfolio at Liverpool City Council ( circa 7bn by 2030 ) We have been working ahead of this asset aquisution having procured the maintenance model of Brightly to look at predictive maintenance Understanding and modelling our exposure during an aggressive growth cycle will be instrumental in understanding lifecycle costs in perpetuity (Bit like when your cousin gives you a great present but you need to buy the batteries for the toy forever) Asset renewals will progress as one of the greatest challenges for growth councils and baselining your portfolio becomes critical - for this reason alone Asset Management Systems are invaluable in quantitative analysis Leveling resources and capital investment will be stage two as we get increasingly closer to first plane / first train ( let’s hope we can get there along 15th Avenue!)

Wednesday April 19th 2023 was a big day for Oslo as an international meetings and congress destination! 🎉🎉 On this day, the planning proposal for a new Oslo Spektrum went through Oslo City Council - so now it's finally happening! There have been more than seven intense and exciting years of planning the further development of the building. The elected representatives supported the plans by the NOVA Spektrum foundation, which owns and operates Oslo Spektrum. The plans involve: - A new congress and cultural arena with capacity for up to 3,000 people. - A lively city space with outward-facing business in the form of cafes and other service offerings from morning to night. - An office building with over 1,000 workplaces located in the immediate vicinity of Norway's largest public transport hub. A three-year construction period is planned from 2024. The industrial and social ripple effects associated with the plans are large, and the realization of the project will contribute to more profitable jobs and increased value creation in both Oslo and the surrounding region. The great positive expectations for the overall ripple effects of the new Oslo Spektrum are also closely related to the fact that there is a large untapped potential for bringing more international congresses and conferences to Norway and Oslo. — The new congress and culture arena will be adapted to the large international congresses and events that we want to attract. This will be the first arena in the capital that is large enough and has the right facilities to succeed in this area. The processes of getting congresses usually take three to four years, and now we can finally start the job of landing congresses from 2027/28! Says Christian Lunde, managing director of VisitOSLO. The positive effects this has for both business and cultural life in the capital and in the Oslo region are great, and we look forward to following the construction! Congratulations to NOVA Spektrum and and to Oslo! 👏👏 NB! the article below is in Norwegian #newOsloSpektrum2027 #oslo #meetingprofs #eventprofs

If I could summarize the last three days of presentations and exchanges at the International Museum Construction Congress into a simple and short sentence - no easy feat: In order to create an inspiring museum experience, you must put #people first, #nimbly co-construct your #program and #projectvision with curiosity and humbleness, and thus, you will transform your #space into a #place that will entice, engage and enrich your #visitors’ experience.

Did you know that our exhibition stand structures are reused and repurposed across projects? Some even for hundreds of events. By repurposing stand structures we're increasing the life cycle of materials like timber and aluminium, reducing waste and energy intensive processes. #SustainableEvents #EventMarketing #Exhibitions
