How do we use housing as an opportunity to reactivate previously marginal parts of cities? On July 5 at Cityscape 24 - Upcycle Ancona, our senior project leader Cosimo Scotucci will discuss this question in relation to a number of MVRDV projects in Bordeaux, including the Bastide Niel masterplan and its development La Vallée Verte, as well as Ilot Queyries, itself a testbed for Bastide Niel. Cosimo's lecture will present the audience with a fresh perspective on how formerly peripheral spaces can be used, and how they provide the potential for a new urban vision. Hi Cosimo Scotucci, I live in Bordeaux and when I see the large building with this park in the centre, I have the impression that this park has been thought of as a public place. I would be interested to know if initially the building was known to be crossed as a public space. The portals that prevent passage seem to me to add after the fact to better correspond to French mindset (public / private separation)
It's amazing that the project Ilot Queyries will be on screen but unfortunately the event is not available online as I understood.
I love this building! Can you share more about its accessibility features? 😊
Grande!
Ceramic facade on its best 👍
Why does Cosimo Scotucci look like he was generated by AI? 😅
Exciting!
Wow very cool!
