Agree, Mr. President. The progress France has made on the Energy Transition can serve as a model for other nations. Thanks for referencing the Energy Transition Index 2024 that the World Economic Forum published in partnership with Accenture this week. Overall, through this index and report we highlight that the energy transition is progressing, but has lost momentum in the face of increasing global uncertainty. While there has been notable progress in energy efficiency and a marked increase in the adoption of clean energy sources, energy transition momentum has been held back by setbacks in energy equity, driven by rising energy prices in recent years. Energy security also continues to be tested by geopolitical risks. Countries, companies and consumers need to come together to collectively solve the energy trilemma. The Australian Financial Review Business Summit 2024 in Sydney last week was a great opportunity to discuss with business and government leaders a range of themes given the backdrop of record disruption levels driven by technology, geopolitics, talent, consumer, climate, and macroeconomic factors.
