The through-line of my career has been grappling with how technology can uplift or stifle human agency. I choose the former. I bet you do too! After all, the world we live in now was once someone's imagination. Someone dreamt, and then many someones built, the Internet, and democracy, and other wild-eyed ideas too. We can imagine a future that centers human agency and we can build it, too. I definitely have days where it feels like it's up for grabs as to whether technology will be used to liberate us or shackle us. But that also means its up to us -- if we act now. Just like there is no best code repo, THERE ARE NO BEST AI MODELS as each use-case is different and each company has its own constraints. It's all about finding the right model or architecture for your specific situation, which is IMO an important part of the job of any AI builder (and can't be outsourced to others).
