All because I liked his shirt more than mine. And it was easier to just buy his, rather than searching for it in the shops the next day. I had to out-think the problem. I had to play by my own rules. Well, I've done it again. I've chopped my hair off. When asked why – I replied simply, "I'm sick of it just laying there." The reality is – I am not a spend more than 10 minutes in front of the mirror kind of gal. Never have been. And in my mid-40s, I'm pretty aware that unless a camera crew comes a knockin' I won't ever be. I've bought the magic tools – the wands, the texture sprays, the volume mousses – and when cleaning out for our recent move from Virginia to Alabama, I realized I might have used 10% of the products in each bottle. When I think about all the money I spent on tools I never used (because they weren't me to begin with) ... OY VEH. 🤦♀️ But – an easy breezy, wash-it-and-go style ... that's what I'm talking about. That's ME. I won't apologize for it. That's not what I want for you in content land – especially if you're trying to create your legacy while building your brand. I want the content, messages, and marketing you're putting out there to connect with your ideal people – and have them feeling FULFILLED because you deliver on your promises. Many marketers believe in only segmenting out their messaging; focusing on sales or on strengthening brand, but never one and the same. I use authentic #storytelling as a way to deeply connect with customers, while building #brand, and increasing #sales. Both can be accomplished symphonically. Yesterday I sent an email #newsletter for my brand REBEL8. I used a personal story of going to baseball games as a child with my mom, and how those experiences translated into new relevant products that can be purchased today. There is a mix of #marketing messages infused within the newsletter, but when clearly presented to the customer in one digestible story there is a dramatic shift in customer perception. They no longer feel they are being marketed to. And that is when the magic happens. You can read the newsletter at the link.
