One of my driving insights is that it usually costs more to integrate data than it does to license it. Data onboarding pains are a tax on every organization that touches data. Lessening them raises all boats and unlocks the value latent in data. Jed Sundwall nails it here. This is required reading if you work with or care about data. Overture Maps Foundation’s GERS identifier and Precisely’s Precisely ID are part of the greater effort here to remove the pain of data onboarding and enable smarter decisions.
We’re starting to explore a new dimension of data that is important to enable interoperability: common data schemas and common identifiers. Read this post to find out how they can maximize the value of geospatial data. https://lnkd.in/eVBd5Pyj

we couldn't agree more! Common data schemas coupled with cloud native formats support knowledge networks that unlock the next generation of data driven solutions. this is one key area we focus on with governments and health programs. We need to build the geospatial knowledge infrastructures (GKI) that expand on National Spatial Data Infrastructures (NSDI) that are supported by common interoperable schemas and standards.
