Hot Updates from DELIVER Europe Amsterdam conference! First and foremost, we must say that the exhibition is beautiful, the lectures are diverse, interesting, and cover current trends. We were pleased to see new trends in Europe that are already being implemented in Israel, which has become an e-commerce powerhouse after years of consistent growth. We met so many people! Dozens of companies visited the Israel Post booth to learn more about the rapidly growing Israeli e-commerce market and expressed great interest in the opportunities it holds. Some trends that emerged: The e-commerce sector is on the rise worldwide, especially in Europe. The issue of returns is becoming significant. According to research presented, purchase opportunities increase by 25% when the return policy is easy, clear, and simple. There is increasing use of collection centers, a trend that significantly reduces last-mile delivery costs. This also relates to another trend, sustainability, with fewer couriers and vehicles resulting in less air pollution. About BRI: Silk-Road Ecommerce Development The Silk Road E-Commerce (SREC) represents a significant endeavor to foster a digital cooperation pattern within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) by leveraging China's strengths in the application of e-commerce technology, innovative business models, and substantial market size. Till October 2023, China has entered into MOUs on e-commerce cooperation with 30 countries. SREC cooperation serves as a vital means to propel the high-standard development of BRI cooperation. It has also facilitated bridging the digital divide, enabling partner countries to embrace the benefits of China's vast market by sharing the dividends of digital development. Shanghai has unveiled its plan for a Silk Road E-Commerce Cooperation Pilot Zone to advance international and regional e-commerce exchanges. Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Xiong highlighted initiatives to boost global e-commerce imports and exports, facilitate cross-border Chinese yuan settlements, and expand international data services. The city plans to implement high standards for trade facilitation, promote global electronic document standards, and explore cross-border interoperability for digital identity and electronic authentication. 🔑 Key tasks include supporting establishing a cross-border interoperability 🤝 platform for digital identities, connecting with global standards like Global Location Code (GLN) and Legal Entity Identification (LEI).
