OLED (organic light-emitting diode or organic electroluminescent diode) is a wonderful technology. Energy efficiency and a thin form-factor is why these display types are one of my favorites. I have this one connected to the i²c pins on a microcontroller. It's displaying temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure from a BME280 sensor and date/time from a precision DS3231 RTC (Real Time Clock). The OLED display functions well on i²c but I'm going to try the spi connection in order to see how much performance can be improved. On side note this project has been sitting on the breadboard for months unplugged and collecting dust on the shelf for a reason. I wanted to test the accuracy of the RTC which maintains time with a coin cell battery. It's very accurate. The temperature-compensated crystal oscillator in the DS3231 makes this an extremely precise RTC. #microcontrollers #oled #circuitdesign #electronics
