One of the great honors of my Special Forces days was to have worked with each of the five Tier I units in the arsenal. You don't realize it as it's happening, the missions come fast and often. A highlight for me was serving as commander of the US Southern Command Regional Survey Team, RST. We did so many things that most soldiers wouldn't dream of doing, and they didn't know what we were doing. Fact was, the team next door often didn't know what the other ODAs or ODBs were doing. A lot of deployments, and it only picked up after 9.11, so respect to the modern warfighters. Next project will involve bringing warfighters from the battlefields of Ukraine to teach and train their American counterparts. The USA has taught Ukraine about the "how-to" of warfighting tactics, techniques and procedures. Now it's time for Ukraine to teach the teachers. Radio Free Ukraine is on task, with an incredible team of international volunteers. Rock solid people of Goodwill. Watch this video, it's a good explanation of the five (known) Tier 1 units in the United States military, the US Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU) aka SEAL Team 6, 1st SFOD Delta Force, Air Force 24th Special Tactics Squadron, Intelligence Support Activity aka Army of Northern Virginia, and Army's 75th Ranger Regimental Recon Company. W O M E N - I N - M I L I T A R Y Women in the military have always sparked debate. Over the years, their roles have evolved significantly. From the first female nurses in the Royal Navy during the 1880s to women flying RAF combat aircraft in the 1990s, progress has been steady. Today, women can even serve in close combat units. This change brings the UK more in line with its allies and represents a big step forward. Here are some examples of the incredible roles women hold today: a female RAF weapons technician, fine equestrians from the British Army's King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, and both flight deck and embarked personnel from the Royal Navy. Do you know any women who have served or serving? Are you a woman currently serving or who has served? How do you feel about these changes and the evolving roles of women in the military? The Anthem Veterans Memorial is located in Anthem, Arizona. This breathtaking monument is a place of reflection for military veterans, family, and friends to show their respect for those servicemen and women who bravely and fearlessly served our great country. • The five pillars represent the unity of the five branches of the United States military serving steadfastly together. • Staggered in size with their appropriate military seal placements on each pillar, the pillars are arranged in the Department of Defense order of precedence. • At precisely 11:11 a.m. each Veterans Day (Nov. 11), the sun's rays pass through the ellipses of the five Armed Services pillars to form a solar spotlight on the glass mosaic of The Great Seal of the United States. • The brick pavers within the Circle of Honor are inscribed with the names of U.S. servicemen and women, symbolizing the 'support' for the Armed Forces. The pavers are red, the pillars are white, and the sky is blue to represent America's flag. • The circle, flanked by two "Soldier Rows," represents an unbreakable border.
