These are The Bootleg Beatles. They make a killing. And they're not even the real thing. They're a tribute band. But guess what? They're not competing with the real thing. The real band doesn't tour for obvious reasons. So, arguably, they're the next best thing. Nostalgia for some of the fans. Then you have tribute bands that exist even when the real band still tours. They make a bit of money. Sure. But they come and go. It's not a sustainable income for the long term. Thing is this. Neither of these are the real McCoy. Neither will leave a legacy, make a real impact or sell when they're gone. It's true, you can make a few bob being the 'me too,' for the short term. But never one that people will love for the long term. It pays to be original. --- #Brand

New Post: Taylor Swift, The Beatles, Elvis & More Artists With the Most Weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200: Full List - https://lnkd.in/gDBAMcem - As Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) logs a fifth nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 (dated Jan. 6, 2024), Swift surpasses Elvis Presley for the most weeks at No. 1 by a solo artist. As Billboard reported on New Year’s Eve, Swift has now logged 68 weeks at No. 1, one more week than Presley, who logged 67 weeks on top between 1956 and 2002. The Beatles continue to lead all artists, with 132 weeks on top between 1964 and 2001. Swift’s strong showing is impressive when you consider that the chart dates back to March 1956, more than 33 years before she was born. Also of note, while Presley’s feats on the Billboard Hot 100 are shortchanged by the fact that his breakthrough in 1956 pre-dated the launch of Billboard’s flagship songs chart by more than two years, the Billboard 200 captures Presley’s entire career. His debut album, Elvis Presley, entered the chart at No. 11 in the issue dated March 31, 1956 – which was the chart’s second week. Here’s a look at all acts with 30 or more weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 since March 24, 1956, when the chart began publishing on a consistent weekly basis. Ties are shown in alphabetical order. Two quick notes: The Beatles and Presley could add to their weeks-at-No.-1 totals with the arrival of a new compilation or if one of their existing albums returns or finally reaches No. 1. Also, If you count the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (which logged 24 weeks at No. 1 in 1978) as a Bee Gees album, the trio had 31 weeks on top. Bee Gees had six tracks on the album — five of which were No. 1 hits on the Hot 100. What happens when a musician who can command $1,000 per minute takes his priceless Stradivari, dons a baseball cap, occupies a corner in a busy Washington subway, and puts on a virtuoso performance for people who would typically think nothing of paying $150 a ticket to see him perform in a tuxedo. You can watch this secretly recorded video on YouTube, but you probably suspect what happened next. Nothing. That's right! Here's this world-renowned musical genius, playing masterpieces on a priceless Stradivari, and he might as well have been a street busker improvising with a fiddle. You probably think it was a busy metro station, and the travelers were under pressure to get to work and paid little attention to the music. But the truth is that this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was only addressed by one of hundreds of people and would have certainly been worth some tardiness for countless passers-by. The ugly truth is that perception matters more than content. Style is more important than substance. Remember that after the Beatles performed 15 songs for the British label Decca on New Year's Day, 1962, the Label rejected them. Dick Rowe and the executives felt that "guitar groups are on the way out" and "the Beatles have no future in show business". Similarly, we often get told that "Tape media is dead,"......" Tape media is outdated,".... "No one uses Tape Media these days".........
