In 2017, my dear friend and former associate Johanna Langford took all my quotes and made a book of them - It’s always on my desk, but I haven’t looked at it lately - I did today, but I didn’t realize how much I relate everything to food! Here are some of my favorites from the book - How much is tuna fish? By the pound? You are a merchant, you should know that. -2009 If the veggie burgers are awful, you don’t mark down the hamburgers. -2011 You just told me: ‘this is like the Minnie in full length.’ We should tell them that—if they had artichokes in a new length wouldn’t you want to know? -2013
