Lesley Yupa, a graduate of Townsend Harris High School, is an AP Scholar with Distinction, Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship Recipient, and Hispanic Scholarship Fund Finalist. Working at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and conducting DNA Nanotechnology research at the NYU Ned Seeman’s Lab, Lesley is an active volunteer trainer at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital where she has dedicated 300+ hours to patient care in the geriatric and ICU units. She will study global public health and chemistry at New York University. Eana Shah, a graduate of the The Nightingale-Bamford School, is a recipient of the The TEAK Fellowship, The Congressional Award Gold Medal for STEM Advocacy, and Veritas AI Fellowship. A leader in the educational access space, she was recognized with The Diana Award and the Daily Points of Light Award. Eana has conducted neuroscience research with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and machine learning research at the University of Washington. Get to know our 2024 New York Milken Scholars! Amanda Cisse, a graduate of Stuyvesant High School, was Student Government President and Black Student League President. She was awarded the Princeton Prize in Race Relations and is a three-time scholarship recipient of the US Department of State National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) to study Mandarin in Taiwan. Amanda was recognized by Mayor Eric Adams for her civil rights documentary that won 3rd place in NY State’s National History Day. A recipient of the CIEE Global Navigator Scholarship to Ireland, Abigail was selected for the NYC Imagine Youth Council and the NY Association of Black Journalists' First Take Program. She is Co-President of the Black Student Alliance and a dedicated stepper, performing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and volunteering at DANCING DREAMS.
