It brings VCs back - when they see quality companies. It helps those who are next-in-line and adjacent. It enables us to send deal flow all year 'round. It attracts talent and other companies. When SDVG/Connect started our mission to bring VC dollars to SD in 2015 - the region hadn't surpassed $1B in any of the previous ten YEARS. Now we're hitting it on a quarterly basis. We're behind only SV, Boston, NY and LA. The goal remains consistent: They can stay bigger, we're creating BETTER. San Diego is Better dot com.

Annual reminder: Leadership comes in small, medium and large flavors. I love Size L leaders that think beyond their direct circle. Those who seek to drive "better," in conjunction with bigger. We are all here in San Diego for a reason. And it ain't just for "bigger." People come here, and stay here, in search of "better." Better doesn't just happen on its own. You have to work to create it. SD is currently nailing the bigger part - we're now the #5 venture market in the country. Making it the BEST innovation community is the goal, and that's made easier with a collective, forward-thinking effort. Lots of Size L leaders, leading together with a shared vision - and executing. Connect has been leading, driving both bigger and better for years. See XEO, see TLFund. See Inno Day. We can use all the help we can get. We're on a mission, and leading together is better. Let's keep doing this San Diego.
