Developing a corporate identity for small and medium-sized businesses, where the owner is directly involved as an employee, has always been a delicate balance for me. It's about conveying value, engaging the target audience, and aligning with the client's vision. After all, if the owner can't feel comfortable with how their business looks and how it's perceived, it becomes challenging to operate effectively.
In one recent project, this balance came to life in a unique way. As I was crafting the brand identity, I had the pleasure of listening to the client's story about a family samovar, a traditional Russian tea urn, that she brought with her from Siberia to Israel over 30 years ago. This piece of history resonated deeply with her, and it made me realize that a logo resembling the samovar could hold powerful significance. It's more than just a design; it's a connection to heritage, memories, and a passion for her craft.
Ultimately, the samovar-inspired logo not only encapsulates the essence of the client's catering business, specializing in Russian cuisine, but also serves as a reminder of the importance of personal touch in design. It's not just about creating a visual identity; it's about creating something that feels like an extension of who you are and what your business stands for. This experience reinforced my belief that every detail matters, and that's what makes design a truly transformative journey.
