💤7 years. That’s how long it takes for an average real estate project to clear the munipal regulation hurdle in Oslo. The monetary losses incurred by the real estate industry due to slow municipal planning processes are gargantuan – perhaps THE most cost-driving factor of real estate. The costs range from relatively minor inconveniences to substantial financial setbacks for developers and investors. They’re an obvious obstacle to the innovation the industry needs to make higher-quality buildings with smaller carbon footprints. It all comes down to the bottom line.
